I am new to Ferrari Chat and have a question/situation that hopefully someone can help me with. I live in PA and have been looking for the "right Ferrari" to fulfill a life long dream. I think I have found it in LA listed by a private party. I called FoBH to try and schedule a PPI. Well, that did not go so well. They don't do PPI's and "No one does them in CA anymore." I understand that they want to "sell" a car, but really...... and frankly they do not have the car I am looking for. Does anyone have a recommendation as to obtaining an independent inspection? Thanks in advance for any help.
where in LA is the car? there are lots of independent shops that could do a PPI, but this town is a big place... and, no surprise that FBH told you to pound sand. PS: Welcome to Fchat! and I have been to Bethlehem, PA. cute town.
I heard that dealers are afraid of Lawsuits so some are staying away from PPI's. If the car is in Los Angeles call Craig at Fast Cars in Redondo Beach. They are a sponsor on this forum, his number is (310) 937-6700
Yes it is. He's based in LA/San Diego now. He kept his old number for now. I used him when I bought my 575.
The car in the Beverly Hills area. I looked at the Fast Cars website, they appear to be the "real deal". Very impressive. Does Adam Cox have a shop or is he a broker??? Thanks to all for the information. Hopefully, everything will work out and I will get a late Christmas present.
I'll also vouch for the guys at Fast Cars. Ask for Craig. Recently had a bunch of minor repairs completed at his shop and was very happy.
I'd trust FastCars. Also, closer to BH in Santa Monica is Foreign Sport Technician (Claudio), and Damian at Fusion is in The Valley. All very reputable.
Claudio is excellent. I haven't seem him for awhile since I have a newer car that has been on warranty.
Had PPI done with Craig at Fast Cars LTD. What a professional shop. Wow, never had service like this before. Talked about what to look for in a used F430 for about an hour. Very informative. Recieved a call that the car had arrived to the shop and that they would go over it and call me back. Called back later that day, car is mint. What a piece of mind. I wish there was a shop like this in PA. Thanks for the recommendation. Flying to LA in 2 days to look at the car and go for a drive before purchase. Can't wait.
Hi Dave, congratulations and good luck on the purchase! If you are headed to FastCars to look at the 430, ask Craig to give you a tour of the buildings they own across the street/alley. They have a race prep shop and a very cool customer long-term storage building. Saw a 959 in there last time.
It's amazingly refreshing how a thread like this can go when you take out all the alter egos and BS! BTW, the weather will be a smidge better than PA's as well! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah, they have amazing cars there. There is another building about a block away that they own that will just blow you away. I geek out on the cars in mid-restoration. Hey, if you are in town, be sure to visit us! I love meeting F-Chatters from all over the world
