I am working on a 72 365 GTC 4. I am having a bit of trouble with the running of the motor. I have done a valve job, carb overhaul, and some other non related jobs to this car. put the motor back in ran the car everything was running good then one valve was sticking in the valve guide so pulled the motor back out to find the valve was slightly bent so had it replaced. Now I have reinstalled the motor and is trying to adjust everything. It runs good when cold but as it warms up it starts acting up. It runs like it's starving for gas. Checked the pressure and is getting 3.5 p.s.i. at idle off idle it is between 2.0 to 3.0 . I thought the fuel is boiling in the carbs. but I didn't have this problem before. I do see the dist. hanging up. so I have been thinking of giong back to the basic and readj. timing, reset the the carbs, and adjust the linkages on the throttle. I set the points at .010 and have a dwell of 30. can anyone think of anything I am forgetting.

Amodest suggestion. "Need help" conveys absolutely no information about the nature of your problem. The reason for a title line is to help people decide whether the thread is something that interests them or to which they can contribute. Also a properly descriptive title line helps when someone later does a search for information. I think that this is especially important in the technical section.

Finally. People are more willing to help if you take the time to fill out your profile.

Heat related problems are usually ignition. Coils, resistors, condenser. Also, Sometimes the fuel filters will clog with crud that settles back lower in the lines when there's no pressure (motor is off). Good luck. Sounds like one of those simple unrelated things that drive you crazy after major work.

Provided spark is good and distributor is advancing properly next would be a proper carb sync, sounds like they are not set up properly, check linkages, float levels, condition of plugs for richness or lean etc.
