    Northeast guys,
I guess I volunteered to be the organiser for the Lamborghini side of this large event. I need to gather up as many Lamborghini as possible.
It is a Make-a-Wish, Childrens Hosp etc show, concorso, and police escort parade and drive with the kids.
    An absolutely touching event.

    Fathers Day, June 19th 2011
    Farmington Polo Ground, Farmington, Connecticut
Fees per car : TBA but I sense very reasonable.
Local hotels will be involved if you need.

This large CHARITY event was a fantastic Ferrari-only show in Hartford at the State Capital. The new organisers have opened it up to ALL Italians and have moved it to The Farmington Polo Grounds. Closer for the NY/NJ guys.
AND opened it up to vendors.

It seems they want to make it simular to Le Belle Machine at Skytop. A GREAT event.

Please post your thoughts and possibility of participating.

PM me if needed. Or Patrick (countachqv)

    Thanks, Peter Karam

As a personal note, I would love to have each model represented.

Update November 8, 2010.... We had a meeting for the Ferrari and Friends Concorso at the Hartford Golf Club in West Hartford. We had 3 reps for Ferrari, one for Alfa, myself for Lamborghini plus Peter C, one from Make a Wish, one from CT Children's Medical Center Foundation.
This show is NOT your typical car show...especailly when the Dept of Defense is contacted about F-16 fly-overs (they do not do that for charity events), $1-2 million expected for charity, 3-6000 estimated attendance, a Polo match between Uconn and another U., etc.
For $10 parking and free admission...it is a great deal, especailly for families.

Sounds great and I Love the cause, but i have always wondered. If people come to see the cars (mostly), and the owners are the ones providing the entertainment then why are the owners charged a fee to enter their cars into an event that wouldn't exists without them?

It's not a no cost adventure to put such an event together so I don't think it's unreasonable to charge an entrance fee. But yes, a lot of car owners get their panties all in a wadd over this. Some folks are just cheap. I find it's better to join in and become a part of community. Some folks do park their exotic in the lot and just look at everyone else's cars. It's a shame.

But what is unfortunate is that this event is so close to the annual Pocono event. That one has been going on for a very long time and many folks have friends they meet there every year. It also has a long history of very strong factory Lamborghini involvement. You get very jaded seeing Valentino so many times on the track driving either the latest model Lamborghinis or even vintage racers.

I wish it were in the early spring or late summer/fall but at less than a week apart going to both is not very probable. Just my 2 cents.

Ken, let me explain. It is because it ALL go to charity. And that is our, the owners, part.
Every part of this event has everyone giving, donating, helping etc.....that includes volunteers, the charities, even the kid's it benefits help and/or involved.

50 kids and 50 Ferraris....going on a 20 mile drive.........I wish they would let the Lamborghinis be part of that........I would LOVE to give a kid a chance in my Countach.
No one is going to charge for the gas. It is about giving.

This event has been going on with the Ferrari community for 10yrs and they have always been charged with never a complaint. $60 is a small fee for up to 3 cars. Plus, there is a goody bag, lots of things to do, and bring the family is very fun.

Paying $60 is such a nothing thing compared to what is going on at this event.

I can not imagine bringing my daughter to Pocono, she would be bored.
However, I am palnning on attending Pocono too.

On the other hand, if it were just a show, then I can understand why charge the cars.

I agree with Pocono date, I brought it up to the committee. They seem to not have a problem with Ferrari guys chosing or attending both in 10yrs.

Also want to mention that I am having a COUNTACH REUNION at this event.

I have a handful coming. I guess, my goal is to have 10 to 20 Countachs.

I know there are owners that just lurk here and I know who you are :)
You are more than welcome to PM me, email me from the website. I will help you out anyway I can.
If anyone needs storage, I have a 4-6 garage and barn.
    I have hotels if needed.

    Just a comparison.
I think the difference between this event and Pocono is the attendence.
I went to Pocono for the first time at Skytop. Great show but the crowd was sparse.....few hundred.
This event draws 3000-6000 spectator. So if you want your car seen...........

A handful of people have inquired. I really would like more.

I have several Countachs so far. There are more but I have not reached out to them.
    Patrick has some more contacts.

I have realized over the years that Lamborghini owners are not the same as Ferrari owners.
Lambo guys are more private or to themselves. Ferrari guys are there when there is an event.
I know there are quite a few Lamborghinis in Connecticut. I will reach out to them.

And if you pre-register you'll get a bag of goodies ..t-shirt, plaque, etc.

Anyone interested please feel free to email: [email protected]

By the way Peter are you doing the greenwich show this year? I am thinking about it. Given the state of your car and its history, you are very likely to get an award

I always had that thought myself.. The Greenwhich show has it the other way around. the displayer also get breakfeast and lunch. It is indeed a lot of work to prep and do a show if you are into it. At least the cost should be shared but I think what they try to do is maximize the number of eyballs.

Went to Greenwich for the first time last year. Did not really care for it. Too hot, too may people, too small of a place. Much to my surprise, I have seen most of those car already. Parking sucked.

Probably will go to Pocono. And I think you and Peter C should come to my house and we all leave from there.....only 2hrs.

My fellow organizers are in discussion now about trophies. I'm not into awards or trophies or judging. Though I know many guys live for that.
