Just picked up a decent used laptop. It has DVD player but no video out. It is a Toshiba Satellite. Anyone aware of how to get a video and audio out for this computer?? I am going to give it to my brother who wants a laptop and has no DVD player. My Micron has a video out which I use with a wireless feed but there is no video out on this one. New card, serial interface, USb, PCMCIA?? Need to run this thing into a media screen either S-video, composite, or component...
Off the bat, I'd say pick up a "vga to composite" converter off ebay. Should be cheap enough. Then just plug the adapter into the "monitor out" jack on the back of the laptop.

It probably doesn't have video out. the link to ebay in your message is just for a cable, it won't actually convert the vga signal to a signal that your tv can use. this link is more like what you need. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=31534&item=5142022285&rd=1
Most laptops in manufactured in recent years (4ish) have s-video out's or adapters for s-video out. Check your manufacturer's website
