Well this post kinda disgust me... I was having my 328 delivered to my mechanic on friday via flatbed. I thought all my baby-sitting was over once the vehicle was 4-pointed to the bed and the bed had to be moved back to horizontal... So, I said, "dude, I'm gonna run in the house to get my keys for my SUV and we'll be on our way..." Well, I come down the driveway and in his hand is my left rear tail light !!!!!!!!!!!!!! and there is a small dent on the very end of the left quarter panel (the area that kinda follows the line of the taillight) and cracked paint at the edge, at the top of the left rear quarter !!!!! Does Vomit come to your mind, it did mine !!!!!!! DISGUSTED... Anyway, I want to get this fix by a place that is very reputable, anal, did I say anal.. Yes, I think you get the picture. Big Picture: although unfortunate things occur... I'm very thankful and very grateful....There are many unfortunate people that their lives are shortened or impaired, etc, etc.... Unfortunate events, of any kind, humble you - literally.........
Mid-Island Collision on Lakeview Avenue in Rockville Center N.Y. Ask for Brian. They do great work and they are as anal as they come
How did you get a dent from the car already being on the bed?? Hit a tree, fence, light?? Seems unusual.
Yes, exactly, unusual... While I was in the house getting my keys, the driver started to move the bed. The 2x6 planks, stacked 3 high and staggered, used to gain clearance were still on the ground underneath the edge of the bed. As he was moving it, the bed canterlevered the plank into the car. At least this is what I was told by the driver. I wasnt there to see it, cause I thought my baby-sitting was over. The car was 4 pointed down already. What the hell could go wrong..... When I say minor damage I mean minor. Tail light broke clean off car and scuffed the other one. OK I could live with that. Upon further inspection there is the dent and the cracked paint. Could have been much worse.
Ultimate Collision When I pulled up last week they had 4 Ferrari's and a Maserati out front. They are the place my friend at Bell Audi uses for all of their repairs: 732.494.1900 www.UltimateCollisionInc.com/
You might to call C&D Auto Body in South Hackensack. I've known Matt for years and he does amazing work, in fact I've heard that he's been getting calls from customers of Classic Coach Repair....(973) 779-0497
I'll add James Auto Works, Glen Head (Long Island) http://www.jamesautoworks.com/ They did an incredible job on my son's cherished and original 944 and had Ferrari's and Maseratis in various states of repair/resto while our car was there.
Classic Coach does amazing body work. But that comes at a price. If the tow guy is paying, definitely insist on having it done by Classic. If you are paying, or they won't go for the cost at Classic, contact Pete at The Auto Body Shoppe in Caldwell. He redid the engine lid on my 328 when I got it last year, and took a bunch of little dents out. He did such a perfect paint match on the engine hatch you would never know it was painted separately, and the hatch looks better than new. Plus Pete is an incredibly nice guy, major sports car enthusiast, and his prices are very reasonable. He did a 308 for my buddy Paul, after he hit the wall at Watkins Glen and the car is beautiful. After hitting the wall rear end first, we thought that car would never survive. But Pete made it look good as new. Also did a friend's 355 spider that needed a respray.
Pete is very good....he has done work for friends, and all were very pleased. I got a quote for some minor work on my TR and was very pleased with the quote.
