Wow, these two are really good, I hadnt heard of them before, but I downloaded a bunch. Thanks. I'm leavin', ya'll don't wait up.
AT LEAST V MAX!!!! There really is no excuse though, if you left early to avoid traffic I bet you could be to San Antonio in 2:45 easy. As for music.......Just bought the three disk set Depeche Mode Remixes 81-04, theres only really two disks worth of really good stuff but none of it is bad.
Huh? I bet I could get there in 2 flat. But it will take me at least 2 hours to locate, mount, and hook up the Jet Assisted Take-Off (JATO) module. I should probably remove the truck bed and weld some beefy support brackets directly to the frame rails, don't you think?
If you're looking for energizing, damn-it's-great-to-be-on-the-open-road music, I recommend the following: "All Down The Line" by the Rolling Stones (for me, this is the all-time best "press play as you hit the on-ramp" road song) "Jesus Build My Hot Rod" by Ministry "If You Want Blood (You Got It)" by AC/DC, from Highway to Hell "Put the Finger on You" by AC/DC, from For Those About to Rock etc. "Hollywood Perfume" by the Pretenders "The Boys are Back in Town" by Thin Lizzy "Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin "Jungle Boogie" by Kool and the Gang "Honey White" by Morphine "I'm An Adult Now" by The Pursuit of Happiness "Sweet Sweet Baby (I'm Falling)" by Lone Justice and on a slightly different topic, "Loaded in the Trunk of a Car" by The Tragically Hip
Good stuff! Are you a big Morphine fan? I saw Orchestra Morphine shortly after the lead singer's death.
No surprise that I dropped out of engineering skool after a semester. On last night's cruise, v(max) = around 49 m/s, northwest. (I do remember that velocity differs from speed in that velocity is a vector and direction must be stated.) The presence of moisture resulted in less-than-optimal conditions to test the limits of adhesion at high speed. However, at low speed, the low grip and high torque of the vehicle made for serious tire spinning fun.
yeah, Live at the Roxy is great, but SBH&H has the best driving songs. BUT, if you get Sex, love and Rock and Roll, track 2, "Highway 101" is FANTASTIC
I saw Morphine a couple times, back in the day...they put on a great show. It was a real shame that Sandman died while they were still on the way up. His bass playing style was certainly unique. And, their sax player could play two saxes at the same time, to a certain extent. I don't have all their albums, although I keep intending to pick them up. I got "Honey White" and a few other songs on a sampler...it's a charging juggernaut of a song.
