I need new tires for my 2010 458. Just used up the old ones at a fun track day. :) Although I currently have Pirelli... i'm leaning towards the Michelin Super Sport. Anyone have thoughts or recommendation? thx.

They are the tire of choice for the 458 when Ferrari prepares for magazine car comparisons tests.

Yup! Pilot Sports are tire of choice. Ferrari even has them in Modis so they can be specced when ordering. My spider has them and they are great.

They are great holding tires in hard turns. Als there is a term called TIR. It tells you how round the tires is and means total internal run out. These tires are the most perfectly round.

They tend to wear out quickly because they are soft by design. The good news is they do not oxidize or crack if they sit in the sun parking lot

These tires are the best. I never change out good tires but when needed I switch to these.
The only exception is my classic cars. I like radial tires that look belt bias. This is so the cars look stock,

What kind of mileage can we expect from tires on the 458? The rears on my F355 and 360 Spider were good for about 5k miles.

Got Mich Pilot Super Sports for the Boxster S. Love em. Will replace the P Zeros with them when they wear out.

Had the car ex factory with the MSS and loved them. Then due to the factory messing up on my rims, they sent me the correct set after 5 months and they had Pirellis and as I was waiting whilst they did the switch, I had to take them. Aside from anything else, far more road noise and will switch back. Easy choice.

Highly recommend them. Ordered my 12 coupe with them and they have been great.

I went through a set of Pirellis during half a day at the track and have returned to Michelin super sport. They offer similar grip and seem to last a little longer.

PSS are excellent dual use tires. If you want to go faster, consider Pilot Sport Cups. But the wear is considabley worse.

I found the M Sports to be rediculously slippery that were delivered on my latest California, I mean really bad. I threw them away after only a couple thousand miles and switched to the Super Sports because Car & Driver rated the SS the best, WAY above the PZero's in the review. I had PZeros on my 2010, yes they didn't last long (7,000 miles on rears and 15,000 miles on fronts) but at least PZero's STICK really good. The Michelin SS's seem to be lasting much longer than the PZero's but again are far slipperier. Given all of that, I got PZeros on my FF too, rather have sticky tires and who cares how long they last.
