NEED OPINION ON 73 EURO RS VALUE

Okay fellows, I have an opportunity to purchase an original 74 Euro RS car. The car is currently owned by a friend of mine and he has owned it for the last 6 years. Like most car guys he is quite fanatical.

If you would be kind enough to offer an opinion on the value based on current and if possible, future market potential I would truly appreciate it.

Current owner is the 4th in the lineage, the original owner worked for Bosch in Germany. When he was sent over in the early 80’s to start a plant in Illinois he had the car brought over with him.

Car has extensive service history including a complete engine rebuild in 2004 at approx 42,000 KM ($20,000), currently has 44,800 KM.

COA concludes this is an original 2.7 Carrera 911/83 car with model specific 915 transmission. It is black/black with red script.

The car still retains all original drive train, some cosmetic modifications have been done over its lifetime however nothing that cannot be returned back to stock, it has an IROC open exhaust, and I’m not sure if the original exhaust is included?

Car has two very minor wet areas that would likely clear up if the car were actually driven more.

The interior is stunning aside from a small dash crack at the speaker grill, paint is above driver quality, below concourse winning. Overall it is very nice. I have seen numbers range from $45,000 to $100,000, any opinions appreciated.

Thanks Doug, I agree, however, I also felt that with the knowledge of some of the fellows on this forum under the Porsche heading I would get more of a response. Similar to the opinions on values of other models such as the Speedster.
