I need your guys help on deciding. Im thinking of getting a used Yellow F430. My question is, would this car be easy to sell later on? or should i just stick with red or black instead. My second question is, what option and transmission should i get for easy resell down the line. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks

To answer your question, stick with "resale red" if resale is what you are concerned about.

I'm not completely convinced that "resale red" is the best way to go. Granted red (or at least the right red, e.g. Barchetta is less popular) is easier to sell to the typical buyer, but they are such a huge percentage of the population that there will be many times more red cars offered to the same buyer. Consequently the chances that *your* red car will be the one to sell depends on many other factors, like price, options, price, mileage, condition, price (;)), etc. In the meantime, a buyer committed to a yellow, black, blue, silver, etc car will be faced with 1, 2 or 3 decent choices and color becomes more of a factor and price and options less so. In other words, there may be fewer buyers, but there will also be fewer cars to compete with on resale.

Another thing I've found is you might as well put some miles on the car because when it's time to sell you'll be competing against other cars that have very low mileage. So, when it comes to to sell and you decide to sell privately you'll be getting mostly wholesale offers anyway. It's easier to justify a lower price when you've actually been driving the car and enjoying it. Make sense?

I completely disagree with this logic. Granted there are more red car to choose from, but there are many more buyers that want red. Conversely, if you are selling a very odd color, there are few to compete with but hardly anyone wants it. Red is by far and away #1 for a reason. As far as the tranny goes, F1 is much easier to sell, for the same reason. Dealers get up to 20K more on a used F430 with F1 vs stick. And F1's sell so much quicker on a F430.

I am far from an expert, but am only speaking from my own personal experience. It took me a year to find a fully loaded, red/tan 2000 360 6-speed. The red/tan ones lasted maybe 48 hours on ebay. Meanwhile, the yellow/silver/black ones sat there for months. After I bought my car, I kept checking ebay to see how long it would take for another fully loaded, red/tan, 2000 360 6-speed to appear. It's been a year and a half, and I'm still waiting.

I think red is #1 without a doubt. I still like it and my new 430 is ordered in RC. However, I own a yellow 512tr and a Grigio Silverstone 599. I would get the color I wanted. Yellow is a top seller.

I never regretted having owned the Yellow! It is very striking with the black leather with yellow stiching. My yellow 05 F430 sold in 5 days to a F-Chatter I believe.

Both of my F-Cars have been red/tan. I didn't go this way for resale, but because I actually think it's the best color for these cars. If it helps resale (we'll see... my red/tan 360 is still for sale at FoSV) then that's just a bonus.

I'm thinking of ordering my 08 Spider (have to order soon) with rear challenge grill, challenge wheels (painted a dark gray), and big yellow calipers (ccb). I think this would look pretty cool, what do you think?

Yellow is one of my favorite colors for the 430, see enough red out there. Still nice, but in my opinion yellow looks really nice!

I agree, even thoughi think the F430 looks good in any color.

BTW, those are my favorite style garage doors. I know random, but I am in real estate and brick and stone are the only way to go IMO when building residential. What kind of business do you own?

Last month I sold my Yellow 430 in less than a week. I think that there is a number of colors which pose a resale problem, but yellow is not one

Agree, my Giallo Modena 360 sold in 2006 without delay. More importantly, I thoroughly enjoyed owning and driving it and in fact, miss it! Note - if anonymity is at all important to you, a yellow Ferrari may not be the best color to choose. It hardly "blends in" with the pack ;)

As for me, If I think of a Ferrari I think it's a red car if you are only having 1 in your garage. The other day I saw here in Manhattan a yellow 430 follow by a yellow Galardo follow by a yellow taxi. If you saw this site I am sure you won't want to get a yellow one. Just my 2 cents.

You will NOT have any problem selling a YELLOW F430, it's a popular color with many, and quite frankly a lot of people LIKE something other than the typical boring Rosso Corsa/tan. If you look around at the F430s for sale you will see a LOT of Rosso Corsa/tan, it's too common, and judging from the sheer numbers of Rosso Corsa/tan for sale it seems to be a bit harder to sell at the moment!... Personally on an F430 I like either Yellow/Black, Rosso Scuderia/BLACK, or Silverstone/Burgundy.

I personally think yellow on a 430 is potentially the best looking color on that car. Black interior, yellow stitching. Wow. If you have any trouble selling it when the time comes, PM me and we'll hammer something out. NO joke. My 360 is Pozzi Blue, which is way more subtle, but a more flashy 430 might be in my future.

I love the F430 and F355 in yellow. I would buy it. I do think it is probably a bit more difficult to sell than another color, but at the end of the day if you like it buy it. Why worry do much about resale?

It appears that resale is important to you. If you like red as much as any other color, then it is a no brainer regarding sale. If you like another color, you have to weigh your personal enjoyment against sale challenges. IMO both cars will sell, but the red may sell quicker. Best

The F430 Yellow of late seems to have a 'washed out' look when compared with the old yellow. If it has to be yellow then the old 'Fly Yellow' would be my choice. CH
