Anyone here familiar with the red 85 308GTSi for sale at Forza? It seems like exactly the car I'm looking for (year, mileage, colors), and it's a CA car to boot. I know 328's are faster, etc., but every time I see a red 308 it just clicks for me. More visceral car, maybe.

If any Connecticut F-chatters are going to Forza, for any reason, please PM or email and let me know. I'm sure it's a good car - just want to what it needs to be show-ready from a cosmetic perspective.

    Thanks all!!

    Jon,
I need to get my 328 in to Bill Pollard for fluid changes, and he is in the same complex as Forza. Its more than two hours from here, but if you haven't gotten anyone else to take a look, I can stop by when I'm out there. I will probably be calling Bill next week for an appointment, so I'll let you know when I'll be out that way.

As an FYI, I'm an anal retentive chemist by trade, so you'll be hard pressed to find a bigger perfectionist (especially when its someone elses money). If someone else can make it out there first, don't wait on me though. Peter isn't always at the place, so scheduling can be a little challenging. Not sure if you posted in the NY region, but Forza is a lot closer to them, so they may be able to help as well.

Let me know if you find anyone else, and I'll let you know when I'll be out that way.

Appreciate the offer, especially from an a/r chemist. I went to look at a 328 recently that had been described as a 9.9, and with a respray on the rocker panels, a new dash, some paint repair on the rear deck, etc. etc. it might have been. So, I'm really gun shy about flying across the country to see a car that a seller describes as 'excellent'.

So, if you're there, I'll eagerly await your opinions (and photos, if you tote around a digital camera). If not, no worries. Have a great 2-hour trip in your 328. Hope the weather's good for you.

In the meantime I'll post on the NY board - good idea.

    Jon,
If I end up providing you with info on the car, there will be photos. Be glad to help. I'll let you know when I have an appointment with Bill.

As a side note, you should know that Peter typically describes his vehicles extremely accurately. When I was buying I would have had no quams purchasing from him. He just didn't have any 328's while I was looking. In the end I ended up purchasing from Ferrari of Orange County. Fortunately I was in Palm Springs for a few days while I was looking, so I only had a short drive over to Costa Mesa to view the car myself.

If someone else ends up looking at the car for you, best of luck!
