    I know this is a pretty accomplished group in Sarasota so I hope someone can assist.

    In the initial stages of possibly relocating my business to Sarasota- have looked at a few buildings via online listings- Planned on coming down to inspect a few soon- But I have one building that I am honing in on.

    If anyone in the area has ANY expertise on commercial real estate or commercial buildings in general- I'd love to reach out and get some local insight.

    As a friend of Jay's, I implore you, do not help this man. His chat name "full garage" is no exaggeration, he owns more than is even listed in his profile, and it is constantly changing. Jay hosts a group of us regularly at his garage to just talk cars and whatever else. In the summer months he will put out the grill and we'll eat, drink and talk into the late hours. He is generous with his time and his hospitality. Jay is very knowledgeable about cars and does a lot of work on his own cars.

    Now I ask you, is this the kind of man you want in your community? I say you do not, (we want him in our community). So whatever building he's looking at, tell him it's a piece of crap and the rent/price is too high.

    BTW, he's probably going to wonder how I even saw this thread. Only because I am driving my 612 down to the FCA Annual Meet and later to the Celebration event, so I check the Florida section regularly.

    Yeah been through that process a few times- Cost of doing business dramatically higher- so I'm not looking to downgrade my lifestyle to avoid Winter- I don't mind the Winter- a small price to pay for the glorious Summer and Spring and Fall- Just wanted to try and upgrade the overall lifestyle if possible- Sarasota is just one of many possibilities.

    The other possibility is stay put and keep buying cars and guitars.

    Yup, SW FL is really nice. Clean beaches, low cost of living, no snow, nice folks.

    only downside is the place is full of really old ****ers. :D

    I run an online business- it's in my profile.

    The thought had been to stay here in Mass. and maybe find a place somewhere south to spend a few weeks every winter. Now the thinking may be to relocate south and get a place on Cape Cod or in NYC to spend the Summer- We'll see.

    Why Sarasota? Why not? We're New Yorkers living in Boston so we want to stick to the East Coast- My people have been retiring to the East Coast of FLorida for the past 50 years- so to me it has lost it's appeal- The Naples to Clearwater gulf coast seems awfully nice- nice people and 7 months of nice weather. And Summertime we have plenty of stuff back north to escape to.

    But just looking... we'll see.
