I bought a 308GT4 in Basselton, Florida. By chance does anyone have some time to do a Drive-by/Check-in so that I can have some comfort level that the car does indeed exist? In fact, I'd be up for reimbursing someone who could also be present while the car is being lifted and strapped down on the transporter? (double check that the car is not gear, not strapped down via saw bar, etc, etc.) But…what I mainly need is the former –*just to make sure the car is there and well. Let me know. I live in the belly of the Los Angeles beast and would happy to reciprocate if you ever need car checked out over here. Thanks!! Just PM me, or do a new post - whatever! Best, Pen
Google maps does not show anything for Basselton, FL? It is a big state, narrowing down the area might help locate someone in the area. BT
I was just thinking the same thing, where is Brasselton, Fla? There's a Brasselton in Georgia up near Road Atlanta. I'd be happy to do it if I'm anywhere near the location. Sure it's maybe not Bradenton? BHW
I think it is Bradenton. the ad here shows a GT4 there: 1975 FERRARI 308 for sale in Bradenton Florida VIN: bce8e5e7a8e0b5615b3c5881af8ca05f | LemonFree.com Peter Tromboni is in Sarasota I think, not too far from Bradenton. Paul Sloan is over there too. BT
Sorry, it is indeed Bradenton, Florida!! Thanks for replying, very nice. I'll send a PM to Peter and Paul.
I believe this car does or used to belong to someone at Luciano's in Sarasota. I'd check with them: Home Page
Yikes! Indeed, step very carefully... Without too much effort, I could find a 308 GT/4 that is not only ten times better looking and original than that one but probably half the miles. BHW
Barton - Sorry my friend but a GT4 for "half that price" is long gone. The reality is that these cars are going up in value and in a matter of months, we'll never be able to find one under $30K. I know this has the goofy bumpers, but I can replace those with stock Euro bumpers, so I don't care. More to the point, is it a garage queen and sitting for 10 years? Owner says he has recent service receipts including belts. And I happen to LOVE black GT4's - very hard to find. And yes, it is owned by Luciano. Does that by itself mean something I should know? Milage? I bought a GT4 with 90K miles on it and everyone said I was crazy - the car ran more solid a later 308 owned with 30K miles. There are always exceptions to the rules. I'm not trying to sound argumentative, but if anyone knows something specific about this car or seller, please, be a pal and tell me. And – can anyone go out and look at it for me?
P.S. - on another subject, but what is the thought of Luciano's? Good shop? Experienced mechanics? Trusted shop?
Although I've used the shop only once (problem diagnosed correctly and fixed expidiously at a fair price) Luciano and his son Dino seem to be quite capable. They have an excellent reputation among the Sarasota Ferrari community.
