Well I spent the evening removing and cleaning a few things on my 71. I have a few questions on the finishes that are correct. 1. Front Grill. Mine was painted Black. 2. The turn signal housings. Plated? Painted? What color? 3. Back sides of bumpers - Painted? 4. Did the inner fender panels that can be unscrewed to expose the bumper bolts areas have a gasket around them? 5. I noticed on my turn signals I have a yellow wire clipped from each side on the back of the plug area. Normal? Thats enough for now, and thanks for all the help all of you have been with my project. 1. Front grilles are black anodized aluminum and the surround is bright clear anodized 2. Front turn signal housings are raw cast aluminum. 3. Bumper backs are chrome. No paint from factory but lots have people have painted them silver or black to hide the rust that forms there 4. Inner fender panels got a gasket everywhere it contacts the inside if the body and around the headlights 5. Clipped wire is not normal. The marker lights should have 3 wires going to them and the yellow wire powers the constant running light that should be on when the headlights are on.
