Hey guys, I would like to know the information (more official) of recently F1 new circuit (Dubai, Bahrain, Shanghai) like this example in Istanbul http://www.formula1-istanbul.com/f1/en/ ,but I could not find a good one by searching from Internet. It would be great if anyone can give me some link or some info about all these 3 circuits. Thanks in advance
Bahrain http://www.bahraingp.com/en/index.asp Shanghai http://www.icsh.sh.cn/en/ (the sites may ask you to download a language pack... just click cancel) The track in Dubai is not completely ready... we are still working hard on development.
Hmm, thanks for that. I didn't even realize there is another track under construction until I saw your post: http://www.volvo.com/constructionequipment/europe/en-gb/newsmedia/pressreleases/grader_f1_construction.htm So do we assume one day F1 will race in Dubai or is this going to be a test track for the Dubai F1 team only? I hear the supporters of Imola starting to moan...
Those and most of the other recent F1 tracks were designed by Hermann Tilke. His tracks are all pretty similar in that they are pretty much flat, mostly 2nd or 3rd gear corners, built in a stadium setting and fold in on themselves. He is also trying to built the tracks to suit the characteristics of the modern GP car, that is generally means hairpins after long straights to make for better overtaking oppertunities. I personally prefer to old classic tracks like Spa, Brands Hatch, and Suzuka because you get a sense of going somewhere and they have some thrilling high speed turns. Even during a boring race those great tracks can provide a lot of interest.
The track in Dubai is to be used firt for the new A1 GP series. Then the Dubai F1 Team will begin using it for testing. An F1 race in Dubai is not too far. But it will only come if it can be squeezed in between the A1 GP schedule. The name of the track is the Dubai Autodrome. The track itself is semi completed. There is still a lot of construction to do with ammenities, pit lanes, and other hospitality facilities.
