    hi everyone,
i am having some trouble replacing the drivers side gas tank on my 360 spyder. it seems to me that the only way to take it out is to drop the left rear suspension and take out the exhaust manifold to get it out. does anyone have any suggestions to make this job a little easier? thanks in advance for all your help.

1st question, why do you want to remove it?

Think Guido takes a fuel tank off the shelf and builds a car around it. GL

its a long story but basically the car was a wreck and rebuild. the driver's side tank was never done right and it was leaking fuel dangerously close to the exhaust manifold. acquired a new tank and now the old one needs to come out. i spoke with my friend that used to be a ferrari tech and he said the quick way to do it is to pull the engine. the long way to do it is to take out the suspension, drop the side skirt, drop the exhaust manifold and drill out a few rivets that hold on the support plate for the tank. if anyone can think of an easier way than these 2 ways, let me know.

you should see the plethora of parts that have already been taken out. ferrari engineers deff. dont design their cars to be easy to work on.

Make sure to replace the fuel tank cross over hoses on the 360. We are starting to see problems with those and they are the same old hoses the 308's used that turned to gumbo with todays fuel. Just for giggles, you may also want to have a look at the "Lifetime" fuel filter inside the tank when you get to that point.

You only want to go there once....

my buddy that used to be a ferrari tech is coming over on saturday and we are going to take a crack at it. hopefully all goes well. i told him that we may need to take off the exhaust manifold and he said "oh ive done tons of those. they are always exploding" hahaha. ******** ferraris.

Dont forget the rollover valves on the tops of the tank either.

I once heard Brian Crall [Rifledriver] say, "If you ever need to remove the gas tank on a 360 Spyder, you may as well just buy another car..."
