Can anyone help? I replaced the hidden fuse in the trunk for the AC/climate control panel with a new line fuse holder and 30 amp fix just like described in some of the posts. After an hour or so of running the ac, it starts to melt again. Any suggestion would be appraeciated.....

What kind of a fuseholder did you use? Was it one of the little twist-on ones like you might find in 5amp or 10amp applications, or was it one of the big glass ones as used for high-powered stereo amplifiers? Was there any indication on the package for your fuseholder that it was designed to handle a 30amp load?

It still seems curious that it could show signs of melting after only an hour, unless the connections were not tight. If there was actually a big draw on the system, it should have blown the fuse.

It was the big glass one used for stereos. The first one lasted a year, then melted. The 2nd one started to melt and the fuse was not blown. Guess I caught it in time. The system is dead. No lights in the console. Could the fan be that much of a draw? Have I totaly wrecked the system?
