I'm thinking of selling my 2002 Maranello 575M. It has a 6 speed Manual transmission. The car looks great and runs great the only issue the car has is very high mileage. It has 126,000 miles, Even the dealer had a hard time giving me a price. Does anyone have an idea of what the car is worth? Like I said looks and runs great. Does need a belt service. Thank you in advance. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You da man!!! You have 126,000 miles on a 3 pedal 575M... That's enjoyment at it's finest! Congratulations.
Forget the milage the rarity will make up for that. I'd get some serious valuations from professionals. RM etc
Graeme, the mileage is a much bigger factor for cars' values here in the US than elsewhere. But you're probably right about the rarity and desirability of this car offsetting it. And you're certainly spot on about getting some professional appraisals done.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the responses. Yes I do enjoy driving the car. I bought it to drive with no intention of ever selling it but as we all know life's situations change. Do you have any recommendations for well known appraisers that would mean something to a buyer?
Would love to know how many of those (s)miles you have put on it? Half-serious mode on.......Do you carry an organ donor card? If your car was an F1, it might be worth (guessing) $50k. As it is a manual, it could be worth (guessing) $150k. Therefore, 'the manual bits' could be worth a tidy sum and some enterprising individual might consider canibalising your car to complete an F1-ectomy on a low-miles F1 example upon which, your high-miles car could still have another life as an F1-upgrade car!
Hi Carlos, i'm very sorry if you need to sell your F575 for external contingency ........ However those engines and gearboxes have very long life ... in Italy, 4 years ago, I seen a 575 F1 in selling with 173.000 Km, the shop payed for this only 25K eur, he sold after few weeks at 37K eur.... blue tdf/ brown very nice, car was fine ... Perhaps your 575 is better than a car with same age but with 2K that was stop in a garage for more years ... people want low mileage .... Good Luck
Let me try and catch up. I put less than half the miles on it myself. It's not my daily driver but I did but it from a guy who use this Ferrari as on of his 2 daily drivers. I use it on weekends and when I've had a rough day and need to forget about life for a while. I live in Southwest Florida.
There were at most 177 out of the 246 3 pedal 575Ms that were LHD, or 9.7% of production total of 2064. A WAG based on those numbers and US production figures would be 02: 20 3 pedals, 03: 17, 04: 13, and 05: 13 (probably overestimated for 05, since I have no breakout of 575M/Superamerica production split for 05) for a total of 63 estimated 3 pedals with US specs, not counting those in Canada. Pretty rare. I think the guesses around $150-160 are probably pretty good, although I hate to get in the habit of pricing Maranellos. Get a pro's advice.
Interesting! For a guy like me who actually drive quite alot, a car like this in good condition is just fine if reasonably priced. My dad's 2012 Mercedes E200 CDI has 515.000 kms and is still running fine. I do about 120 mph. in it just about every day No issues. If a Maranello is taken good care of, my guess is that it will run fine for 300k kms.
Carlos, honestly, never seen a comparable car..... High mileage but on the other hand a rare 6 speed car. While it would be more easy to value a low mileage car, there are imho no comparable cars sold recently. Hope the car will find it's way to a enthusiast who enjoy it as much as you and the previous owner... But sorry, also from my side no clear idea about it's value. Most probably, the already estimated values are right, but you'll have to find the right person for this quiet unique car.
tazandjan Those are great states on the car. Where did you get it from? I will be listing the car before the end of the year. Does anyone have suggestions for the best places to list it?
Carlos- The production numbers came from a Maranello Concessionaires brochure. The US production numbers came from an NHTSA site. Rest is simple math. For $15 you can subscribe here on FChat and put an ad in the FerrariAds section above. Ferrari Market Letter would be another place to advertise. E-Bay generates a lot of interest, too, even if the Ferraris advertised do not sell through E-Bay. Theft Rates | National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
I want to thank everyone again for your input. It has all been very helpful. I will be listing the car sometime next week and I have found all the places you suggested I should list the car but the auction thread on fchat suggested by henryr. I'm having the car detailed this weekend. I will post some pics for everyone to see.
Again thank you for your assistance. I have posted the car for sale on eBay motors. If you know of anyone who might be interested Just ask them to make me an offer. I would like to sell it before the end of the year. this is the link: 2002 Ferrari 575 6 Speed Manual | eBay
Carlos- Saw your ad. One small mistake. There are at most 177 LHD 3 pedals that were produced, but only a fraction of those came to the US. US production was probably around 63, plus or minus 10 or so.
Great car will even held it's value actually while the Maranellos value in generally seems to soften... Not a personal problem for me, bought the car just for.... sentimental reasons...but for some investors. For sure an investment into the future, this low volume models will always be in the focus, even in the next generation...., as Terry explained mentioning the production figures.
