    Remember that Lexus SC300 I sold back in '07?? Well it seem's the idiot I sold it to never bothered to transfer the title over into his name so I keep getting his citation notification's for parking and inoperable vehicle violation's and he lives in Illinois!!! Naturally I have informed the police dept aswell as city hall that I live in Texas and they need to check their record's, how can I recieve a violation for a vehicle when I can verify I have never lived in Illinois.

    I even spoke with the 2nd in command but he took on a foul attitude and tone of voice with me immediately after I informed him that I am a certified Texas peace officer, he must be jealous, lol. He said he would research this issue and get back to me but I am certain it will be after I recieve more notification's for unpaid tickets.

    Advice???

    Did you ever inform the Texas DMV that you sold the car?

    Most States have a procedure for doing this.

    You need to fill out the Ownership Transfer form.... Tx DOT has it....and then you'll have to clean up the trail of violations IF you can..

    That's where you indemify yourself.

    Get that done!

    He's ducking the 6% Sales Tax, they will go after him for that and penalties, he only has 30 days to get that done free and clear, after that they take a "special interest" in your business dealings

    Thank you toggie and BigTex as I now have a project for tomorrow but I have a hurdle, I cannot locate any documents regarding the sale or the buyer's name so will that be a HUGE hurdle? Guess I will just have to see what TX DMV has to say first?

    I have said atleast twice now that any paperwork I had was either misplaced or lost in my move last year and I cannot locate anything regarding the sale. I'm not gonna worry about and if they want to persue the matter I will speak with their DA.
