I want Pilot Sport 1 or 2, but cannot find them in my size. 315/35 17 rear and 245-40-17 front.

Michelin's headquarters are in Greenville, and the tire dealers are not helpful, anyone know someone who can tell me if and when I can get these tires?

The best place I have found, and others will agree, is www.tirerack.com. They will ship the tires to you and you just pay to have them put on and balanced. I pay about $40 for all four here in Statesville. I have checked tirerack.com and found the fronts in the size you wanted, but not the rear. I don't know if your current rear tires are the standard size for your wheels, but if they are, then you should be able to fit the 335/35's on the rear wheels. A little wider tire will be a good thing. I have attached the link to the page you need to visit.

Thanks for the help Rob, my last set came from there as well, but the M PS1 or 2 Series is not comming up anywhere. Michelin's headquarters are in Greenville, SC, and I was hopeing a Fchatter worked there, and could let me know if they are making this tire, and when it will be avalible.

As a secound question, I wonder if any of the competition tires will work for the street? My pilots only lasted 14k miles anyway. I may not drive as much this year...

The ones I did find were as follows: BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD, Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, Goodyear Eagle f1 Supercar, Yokohama AVS Sport, Dunlop SP Sport 8000. But what about the Sumitomo HTR Z for 114.oo! Man they must be great...right...

I would definately be interested to know if Michelin were going to have a blow out sale! When you read below you will know why I am always looking for a deal on good tires. Please keep me posted.

    David:

I run the Michelin Pilot Sports on both the 360 Spider and the Maserati. Their performance is superb. You can buy tires with better performance for the street, but you are going to give up wear. I tried some Khumo MX Exctsa' and had good performance but did not last long so I went back to the Michelin. The way I drive, the best I have gotten from those tires is 16,000 and that was pushing it. When I first got the 360 Spider I replaced the rears at 8,000 miles. You are going to have to guess what I was doing to achieve that feat.
