Recently purchased a one owner 1997 993 C2 Coupe. The car is 100% original and only has 23K miles. My car has the stock 16" wheels and I need new tires. The tires I need are 205/55 16 front and 245/45 16 rear. Problem is I cannot find tires in these sizes and I would like to avoid buying new wheels. I noticed Continental makes the ContiSportContact tires for the car but they only seem to be available in Europe. I would like to stay with the ContiSportContact since they are Y speed rated and OEM for the car.

Does anyone have a reliable source for these tires? My local tire dealer said he cannot get these tires (or anything else in these sizes). I have no issues purchasing from Europe, but would like a recommendation as to a good vendor.

    Thanks,
    Ken

The big problem is there aren't too many 245/45/16 tires available. Bridgestone makes the RE11 in that size, but I'm unsure if they have a 205/55 available. Toyo makes the T1R in a 245/45, but not a 205/55. You could upsize the fronts to a 225/50 to get a matching set.

If I was in your shoes this is what I would go with. The RE-71R is the new version of the RE-11 and they both have very similar compounds and would match up well. Going from 205/55 up front to 205/50 will make zero difference from a performance standpoint and very little difference aesthetically.

Thanks guys. But those tires are only V rate. I want Y rated (or at least W rated).
