I have had a slight noise diagnosed as bad bearings on the lower drive gear for the timing belt. I was told the engine would need to be removed to access the lower timing cover, to replace the bearings (1 inner, 1 outer).

I need to find a good repair shop on Long Island, preferably out east. Anyone having any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

I called the Ferrari dealership several times and asked for a general price, but with no call backs.

    Thanks for any help.

How far out east? Where abouts on the island you located or willing for the car to go?

I'm in Southampton. But, I will flatbed to points west. I'd like to find just a good mechanic or shop that knows ferrari's, won't rip me off, take forever, or bulls**t me.

Try International Automotive Repairs in Huntington on 25a. 631-421-2000. Closest place I know of off the top of my head.

There is Westhampton Coachworks in Westhampton. The Car Doctors in I believe Watermill and then there is Berlinetta in Huntington.

Oh and Northumberland in Southampton. Have you tried any of these yet?

Hi Rich - I highly recommend Berlinetta Motorcars. Doug Pirrone has been servicing my F-cars since the mid 80's. They have recently moved to Huntington Station off Pulaski Road. Their phone number is the same as it has always been: 631-423-1010. Give Doug a call for advice with your problem and direction to the shop. All the best. Craig

    You must be kidding, right?

I first took my car to Berlineta, then Westhampton Coachworks.

I would NEVER recomend either of the above, unless you have a VERY fat wallet.

Try Bert Mota who happened to be the head mechanic @ Autosport for over 10 years. He is conveniently located in Garden City/Mineola and is highly reccomended by those who appreciate quality of craftsmanship and customer service over quantity and chit-chatters.

Years ago, (about 10), I had a major done on my 308QV there by "Joseph's Garage". Nice friendly people, and did a very nice job. Give them a call.

Hi Rich, good seeing you last weekend.

I also highly endorse Doug at Berlinetta. He is an f-car shop and knows f-cars inside and out He is honest, does good work, but is not cheap. I've known him for years and he is the one that currently does the work on my f-car. I know he is expensive but I also know he will not cut corners and the work will be done right. Tell him Craig and I sent you (won't help with the price though.)
