    My neighbor is going to South America on a hiking trip. The tour guide said bring a V3 cell phone. There are plenty of V3 cell phones for sale on EBay. Some say "for Verizon" others say "unlocked, USA". Which V3 cell phone should my friend buy so that it works in South America? Thanks

    Unlocked/Unlocked US. I don't think it matters except you'll get a US plug with it to charge it. Then you buy a prepaid sim card over there and put it in and it'll work over there. Thats what i plan to do soon. I'll buy a quad band phone and keep buying prepaid sim cards wherever i go and they'll work.
