My opinion is that they look awful. Fortunately wheels can be refinished.

I don't care for them at all but, as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's YOUR car... ;)

You'll likely get more comments - positive and negative. You're brave (and trusting!) to even ask.

To my eye, the black is "not right". I'm a bit of a purist, but not so insanely as to thwart enjoyment, driveability, performance or - on occasion - looks. However, the black rims and body color rims just never 'hit me'. I don't like 'em on anything.

Interestingly, I'm refinising my 328 wheels this weekend (an old finish, a few scuffs, plus I'm getting new tires) in the Argent silver/clear, plus new centers, detailed lugs, valve caps, and all that.

They are different. If you keep them black.....when you run into other 328's, yours will stand out. This can be good or not so good.

Keep them black for a while, everybody else has the stock look plus it's a good contrast.

After all like Bullfighter said, you can always refinish them:)

Refinish them back to silver, just be advised if they are the original factory wheels they are magnesium and need to be prepped and painted differently than aluminum. While you're at it you should consider correcting the window louver grilles, exposed aluminum on the top.

They look like those BBS wheels so popular in the 70s and 80s. Looks ok to me.

Did you ever figure out if you have spacers? Those are convex wheels on an early 328, right?

The stock 328 louvers are all black, no silver stripes on them. The 328 wheels are also aluminum alloy. Sounds like you're thinking 308 in this post.

Nor do I. And I personally like black wheels. I wouldn't have done what the previous owner did by messing with the stock wheels, but I have considered putting black wheels on my 328 (red as well). My GT4 (sold years ago) and C4 Vette both have/had black wheels, so I may be corrupted at this point. Someone on the forum has a great looking red 308 with black wheels (may be 17"). EDIT: Found and added a shot of that car (Rizzo)

Otherwise, the spoiler looks better if just removed or left black IMO (painted roof looks good though).

I woud have them refinished back to originals. The 328 is not modern enough for that style IMO.

Refinish the wheels back to original on one side of the car and leave the other side as is.

Yikes, those 17s are way to big for that car.

M2C, since they are original, put back to stock. I think they look good with the car and if they were aftermarket I'd say leave them.

But seriously, David, Ferrari of San Diego's signature wheels were painted black on the inner aspect of each spoke. I personally like the look.

Goodyear used A QV with such wheels in this period ad:

I like the finish in the ad better than the ones on your car. Do what you like.

BUT Since you asked :D, I personally like black cars with black wheels, but some red cars can pull it off. The few other cars in this thread look pretty good as does Junglistluder's Lotus, but your 328 IMHO would look better with the stock color wheels.

    Just my .02

Maybe somebody can put a side by side picture comparison on here. My car with the black wheels. And someone elses car with regular wheels next to each other.
