Hello, my husband and I are looking to purchase a 2003 Ferrari 360 with a small budget. We placed several ads on craigslist and we got a response from someone who owns a Ferrari 360 with 22,000 miles. The car is in good condition nothing is wrong with it but my husband is cringing the thought of driving a stick and I can not drive it. We are basically buying the car because we are relocating and will be in a circle so it is just for the game. We own our other cars out right. We got approved by the credit union for the amount the person is selling it for $47,000. It's silver and my husband says he will have it wrap in Ferrari red and add a challenge grill and some new wheels. Should we buy the car? thank you!

Yea sounds like to many things you don't want. When things are to difficult they are usually not meant to be. I would wait take your time save up some more money and get what you really want.

That is way to cheap.......sounds like something is wrong with the car.
Bluebook on that is around $75K.

Get a Pre Purchase Inspection and make sure they do a thorough job.

And remember that maintenance and repair is not cheap......You can do a search here on maintenance costs.

The words Ferrari and "small budget" rarely go together.

I just bought a 2002 360 and had it serviced the bill was $13000. Belt service, front brakes, new clutch with fly wheel and 2 front tires. I new going into it what it needed I couldn't imagine not knowing and finding out after the fact.

Welcome, you are now officially a Ferrari owner. Despite all those saying otherwise big bills occasionally happen. You don't have to like it you just have to be able to pay it.

preferred by some. There are a lot of F1 lovers out there they just don't have the rabid need to reaffirm their choice that manifests in many 6 speed buyers.

As far as stick or F1, I have done extensive search here - they are both just as reliable and both lasts just as long.

So it becomes a personal choice.

I learned on a stick and now own F1 and I love it.

You put an ad on Craigslist saying you want a Ferrari 360 on a small budget??? For $47K? Whoever answered your ad is 100% a scam artist. Run away.

Yes. In fact, if you are this gullible to fall for it (don't be it's a scam).. I think you should meet them in that alley they specify and bring it in cash. I'm sure they'll have the keys and title with them.

I don't even know what "will be in a circle so it is just for the game".. but it sounds like the short story "The Necklace" by Guy De Maupassant. Try reading it and, Mathilde, remember that people that matter can and will see the real you.

It's either a totaled car, or a scam. Since you posted an ad asking for a Ferrari, I'm 99.99999% sure it's a scam!
    Don't respond to that guy.

Hint: Most responsible owners who are ready to sell their Ferrari do NOT scan Craig's List looking for people who have placed a notice that they're looking to buy a cheap Ferrari.

However, scam artists do. A word to the wise, as they say.
