Go ahead, take a shot. The usual rules apply, post before midnight PST Saturday night, and give full names or initials, just 'Schumacher' won't work. This is one race where I bet most folks wait until after qualifying to post, LOL.

Probably somewhat wishful thinking...but I'd love it if it happened. (FA DNF would be even better)

    And

    8) JPM

I think FA excells on higher speed tracks, this is a really tight course. The only change I might make it to put GF second and FM third.

This is so hard to predict-I love and hate this race-the glamour, the show, the spectacle (women) vs. the fact that it is impossible to pass on this circuit and it's been that way for years.

Having said that if I'm in a McLaren, Toyota or Bar I'd qualify with about 5 galloons of gas and the stickiest tires possible. Pit in early (when I'm on fumes), go to full tanks, hard rubber and stay out the rest of the race. Why?

Because no one could pass me......guaranteed podium or at least good TV time for my sponsers... ;)

For those that don't know already, I'm an idiot, I thought the race was THIS weekend, it's NEXT weekend.... DUH.

If you already posted above and cannot change it, I will allow you to repost by NEXT Saturday's deadline. Winner (if any get all 7 in order) gets my poster pic of Alboreto I took 20 years ago in the 126.

TIFOSI - because 7 is easier than 8. I had it as 6, but that was 'too easy', everyone would just pick 2 Ferraris, 2 Renaults and 2 McLarens...

It did seem kind of early, but unless another team drops an engine while unloading I don't think people will change their predictions much.

I'll post before qualifying-need to check the tarot cards....

FA doesn;t have a good history here:

    1) MS
    2) kimi
    3) jb?
    4) JPM
    5) FA
    6) trulli
    7) fisi

    8) ralf....if he doesn;t take anyone out with him

Agree that FA isn't that good here; his teammate (Trulli) spanked him in '04.

In '05 FA qualified second but finished fourth; in '05 MS set the fastest race lap despite the dog Ferrari.

As such here are my predictions:

    1) MS
    2) GF
    3) FA
    4) FM
    5) JT
    6) KR
    7) JPM
    8) JB

Only passing will be in the pits; the "quasi-traditional" first corner accident could shake things up-making a pole position/front row start that much more important here...

You picked the worst of the worst. Congrats!

Reminds me of the USGP in 2000: They had some old F1 cars doing parade laps. Giacomelli's Alfa coughed by us and somebody commented on horrible and sick that puppy sounded and what a shame that the owner is not taking better car of this historic car. Somebody else replied: "No, they always sounded like that." We all had a good laugh.

No no - DeCesaris was the worst 'driver' of that period, IMO. And the second banana japanese driver in the Lotus behind Senna. I don't think the 3 I named were THAT bad. How about Francois Hesnault ? Or the clown Eliseo Salazar ?

You're right of course, there were worse drivers. I actually liked Giacomo and Ricardo. I remember once seeing a documentary where they hailed the arrival of the young lions: Giacomelli, De Angelis and some more forgotten drivers and they went on to predict future world champions. Yeah right.

Lammers, Winkelhock and Stuck are some more names that come to my mind. And later on Foitek and Bouillon. Don't worry if you never heard of them. :)

    I remember Foitek, barely.

Winkelhock I thought had great potential, but not while being stuck in Gustav Brunner's ATS. He was damned good in the class that killed him, Stuck was phenominal in Gruppe C also, it goes back to what I said a few weeks ago: maybe some drivers are just better in different types of cars ?
I don't recall Jackie Ickx or Derek Bell blowing anyones' doors off when they drove F1, I don't think Bell drove much in F1 at all. If ever. (?)

    Check this out on Ickx:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacky_Ickx

Ickx won the last race at the "real" Nurburgring and was against improved safety regs in F1 since it took the 'sport" out of it...
