Hey Guy's and Gal's, My plasma fell off my wall last night and needless to say is broken beyone repair. So I've found a better tv for only a $100 more then what it would cost to replace with the EXACT same model of my now broken t.v. So my question is ; is it possible to negotiate with Walmart? I have with Best Buy and Futureshop(cdn best buy kind of) so why not at Walmart? Anyone know? please let me know i'm leaving in about 20 minutes to go by Walmart and the other place's to at the very least check out what's out there. I'm currentley looking at what's got to be a 14" tv and it's absolutely BRUTAL!! I don't know how people can do this!
I think he meant negotiate for a better deal on a new TV, not negotiate to get it replaced for free or something.
Well actually I didn't break mine, I said I installed the mount to the wall. The guy asked me at the Sony Store if I had bought the mount from Home Depot to which I replied yes why do you ask? His response was that i'm at least the 10th person to have bought a wall mount from Home Depot to have their tv fall off!!!! I even bought a mount for a 50" tv just to be extra safe!!!!
Yes sorry if it wasn't clear, I meant negotiate on a new tv. I only checked WalMart as friend said he got a great deal on his there. Well they did have some great deal's on brand name tv's but ended up getting the new model of my now smashed one...
You're an LG man, all the way. LG means "Let's Go!" Glad you found a replacement, pronto. Now, about that new mount . . .
Not sure if the people who work at Wal-Mart are able to negotiate. Certainly they could price match, but then why buy at Wal-Mart? If you have a BrandSmart (or other commission based electronics store) those guys can negotiate, and you can get a killer deal if you walk away. They always come find you to make a counter offer before you leave.
yeah that's what I was counting on at Future shop and did get a awesome deal but of course they had no more in stock and would have had to wait three more day's and there's no way I could have gone much longer watching that little 14" much longer...my bedroom tv crapped out on me about a month ago...lasted a LONG LONG time and didn't pay a dime for it so didn't care about that one.
It look's like the metal anchor's that were in the wall just 'came apart', about 10 second's before it actually fell I heard a metal 'pinging' sound and even asked my girlfriend if she heard that, I waved it off as this new kitten knocking something off the desk/table etc., like she usually does and sat down on the couch, 2 second's later it all come's crashing down.... I think I still have the bolt's/anchor's somewhere if the girlfriend didn't throw them out already. Will post if I can find them..
I'd go back to Home Depot with the broken anchor bolts and the receipt for the new TV and see what Home Depot has to say
