are the boxer blanks the same as the Dino blanks?

If so, I have a couple. If not, Dennis McCann would have them. www.allferrariparts.com

    Happy hunting,

I think I might have them. Can you post a picture of what you need so I can see if it is the same?

Heres the ignition key, the door key is a small diamond shaped key with torino on one side and SAFE on the other.

    Thanks.

    Dear Ferraristi,

You should still be able to get them from your local F pimp. When I had a 308 ( no pun intended ) , I had Ferrari cut a set of keys for me...ignition, door/gas cap.

I believe Italianautoparts.com has the neiman with a black plastic cover with a little silver horsie on them...nice touch but not very OEM for your boxer....if that matters in this case.

    BE CAREFULL.......

a couple of things you need to know:

The neiman door key are steel. goodluck finding a locksmith that will cut them. you will have to take them to lowes or home depot and hope for an idiot. the have neiman on one side and made in germany on the other, expect to pay around $125 a piece on ebay - they aren't being made any more. make sure you get the right key style, neiman has several key styles. the 400 differs from the 246/daytona/boxer/308 for reasons i never understood.

a fellow f-chatter made some great brass repro keys that just have "germany" on the one side. they are awesome and come up on ebay often or around $30. i would always take the to a locksmith to make sure they don't screw them up

the safe/torino keys are easier, they are made in brass. there are 4 style - the 2, 4, 6, 8 keys. the 2 / 6 and the 4 /8 keys have the same profile but different shaft sizes. you will need to figure out what style key you have and then compare to the shaft styles of what a locksmith has on hand - usually ilco.

be prepared to get a gut check when they go to cut them. i just went through this with my dino. i had bothe a 4 and 8 blank that seemed to slide in ok. either the shaft was worn or i was lucky, but cut the 8 key which is what i thought was right based on it being a 74 and it worked.

didn't have the same goos fortune on a 308 i had in the 90's, but that was also when the door keys were availabe form the dealership. $30 mistake.

current doorkeys are available from the dealership, but they aren't cheap. they also show up on ebay occasionally. make sure you know what you are buying when you do so, either way. the blanks aren't priced per key blank, but rather by the hardness to come by of that style
