Nero 348 SS Performance Update Program

Well, kids, we are nearing the end of the line here with the most recent go around of mods for this car. I have acquired Mustang blue top 24 lb. injectors to replace the stockers in the car. Was a funny story that, but old news. Of course, goth the mad scientist Stooge, did his demontech magic on the intake runners - I had borrowed Plugzit's lower plenum runners so far - and we installed them a couple of weeks back. We have an Innovation LM2 FA tester and some replacement higher flowing cats (50% better flow rate than the high flows we had installed). I feel that this is the week for all this to come back together and we will see what we can. This is about the end of the attempt to wring as much as we can out of the stock system.

The next phase would be to start radical modifications that take it away from stock, like Group77racing's prototype intake system. I found a company that makes custom intakes in SoCal so I would need to spec replacement MAFs and TB's.

So far, we have not tested the output of the new runners, but the butt-o-meter can feel a difference. The acceleration is manic once you leave the lower revs behind. This engine sure do like to breathe. Throttle response is way better and the car positively screams like a freaking banshee to the redline, which is gets to pronto. We're thinking that the dyno cannot really tell you what this car does under load in real world experience, like say blasting up a freeway on ramp in second gear with a snap shift into third. I can tell you that at a rally the crowd stopped to watch it blast out of the parking lot with its F1 wail to redline. Oh joy!
