Owner of this gorgeous 2013 Black 458 Spyder decided to get some paint protection film done. Upon arrival, he realized that we also specialize in the 9500Ci custom installs (laser jamming and radar detection). Having had issues with his other 458 Coupe's 9500ci installation, he decided to have us perform the work this time around (for his other 9500ci installation, every time he pressed the horn, it would trigger the radar detection, which is a sign of improper wiring).

    PROJECT 458 SPYDER:

Satin Guard paint protection film - how does this differ from vinyl? It is approximately 3-4 times thicker than vinyl and only comes in translucent form. It also has Satin metallic flakes that can be seen in direct sunlight, which is the uniqueness of Satin Guard.

Wait a minute: That's amazing. You have a film that blocks laser? Is it clear or does it make the paint look different?

Sorry for the confusion. The 9500Ci is an actual laser jamming unit (http://www.escortradar.com/passport9500ci-details.php)

Satin Guard is a translucent paint protection film (aka clear bra) that has a 2 tone feature:
    1. low light conditions - look matte
    2. sunlight - exhibits satin metallic flakes in the film

Looks like a great system for those who want a reversable satin finish.

Yes, that's correct. It will not harm OEM paint and will protect the paint like conventional clear bra.

The major differences between this and vinyl / foil are:

    1. Satin Guard is 3-4 times thicker than vinyl / foil, which means it will protect better (just like paint protection film / clear bra)
    2. Comes only in a translucent satin metallic finish - in ambient lighting conditions, it will look matte. In direct sunlight, it will have a satin metallic finish
    3. Extremely easy to care for - just wash...no waxing or sealing necessary.
    4. Satin Guard comes with an oil resistant finish, which means finger prints do not readily show up compared to matte vinyl.

**just ask Kirby (itzkirb the famous photog about his Lambo and he'll tell you)

I cannot say enough good things about these guys. The attention to detail is amazing.

    I highly recommend them!

Big 458 fan. All else tries to come close but misses by several years.

Maybe the photo's do an injustice or I misunderstand intent. From the photo's it looks like somone has taken a glossy finish and created a matte finish. Is this an objective? If the case, why not simply use wrap. Best
