Nero F430 less flashy than Rosso Corsa?

Its a Ferrari..........attention will follow

 

I had an 80 year old lady snapping pictures of me and the car last weekend, LOL. She was really nice and a total car NUT!

 

I have a white 430 spider and my friend has a nero 430 spider....we both have people chasing us on the highways to get photos, tons of stares, lots of attention...

If the attention bothers you, I don't think the color change will get you enough "relief"...

 

Had a nero daytona 599 and most people had no idea it was a ferrari until they were on top of me. Currently own a rosso corsa Scud and I see cars in my rearview mirror blowing thru the speed limit just to get a closer look and give me a thumbs up.

 

I personally think that no matter what color F car you own, somebody somewhere is gonna spot it. Ferrari's are designed to stand out amongst the crowd. I haven't been able to really shop around for the 430 of my liking yet. And I definitely won't mind the looks I'll be getting either. That just puts an even bigger smile on my face at the end of the day

 

Should you choose to exchange cars so soon you will lose a fortune especially if you then realise the attention is not color dependent and sell the new one quickly too

Two good reasons, but you will still get attention regardless of the color. It seems to make sense, though, that colors other than red would get a bit less attention intially, at least until people recognize the car or get closer, and figure out it's a Ferrari. If it makes you feel more comfortable driving it, especially if you will enjoy the manual transmission more than the F1, I say go ahead and do it if you don't mind the cost of the transaction. I have to say that I also very much like Ferraris, but am not wild about the extra attention, so tried to keep the attention on the lower side by getting silver rather than red. People still look, point, take pictures though.

 

I have a black one, color makes no difference.

Sounds like this may be your first Fcar. If so, it is normal to be shocked at the attention. Some people buy the cars for the attention alone. For those of us who prefer to remain anonymous, all we can do is live with it. I've learned to wave back at people and answer questions that often come at gas stops, etc. It's just part of the deal. Sometimes, I have had memorable or amusing encounters, so I try to turn it into a positive. But there are days I wish I had a "cloaking device" like on star trek.

I wear a baseball hat and sunglasses whenever I'm driving and make a point to fuel up only in the early am or after dark. That seems to help.

 

In my opinion. I would think you would lessen your attention from the younger crowd. The older school folks wouldn’t change much.

 

Seriously: screw what others think. It's your dream. Don't let them take it away.

Now, if you like a silver one or a black one because it's more subtle or you think its more attractive, great. But if you want a red F430 then to hell with everyone else.

 

That's what I was thinking. I would not let public reaction influence what I want to buy.

There's no escaping it - just get used to it and try and block it out. In the rare occasion someone is endangering other people on the road by following too closely, etc. slow it down well below the speed limit until they leave you alone.

 

I have Argento...still attracts tons of attention...if you can't take the attention...get a subtle car like an AMG Merc or M BMW...

Nothing new here. You may as well get used to it. You will still get a lot of attention in a black one. Keep your eyes forward and don't look around. Works for me.

I have had my car 7 months, drive it once or twice a week and don't notice this behavior described here.

Drive what you want and ignore everyone.
