Heres a few I took of my spider, she gets celebrity style attention but I think it may just be the area I live in, I never see another ferrari on the road. However I borrowed a coupe version and it seems without the roof down the attention halved!

I never get all this crazy attention everyone is talking about here. No one is hollering, or sticking out their cars to wave, or comes up to talk to me at gas station. Obviously a nod here and a "nice car" there is common, but the rest not so much. My conclusion is that a nero Ferrari attracts a lot less attention than a red one.

I want to spend some "alone time" with your car after which it will have a light coating of while protectant

I bought my first 02 Ferrari 360 Modena over Memorial weekend this year in LA and drove it home to portland. On my way back I pulled over to cancel a 1 way airline ticket and parked well off the off ramp behind a closed bank at night as soon as I parked I was immediately surrounded by 3 cars, As I got out of the car to make a call. They have been following me for 10 miles, as they got out there cars they got out there camera phones to take pics and ask questions. They all worked for dish network and were going home after an event and were chasing me down HWY 101. I got out and spoke with them a few minutes after canceling the ticket and then got back on the Hwy to Monteray for the night to stay with a friend.

If you are not buying a Ferrari for attention then what are you buying it for?

What an ignorant comment... For the engineering marvel and what's under the hood. Not everyone buys a prancing horse to show it off, as a matter of fact I'd say the majority of folks like to keep is subtle...

    Word.

I've owned nearly every P-car since (and including) a 993, and that list has two 997 TTs in it (one cab, one coupe). The F430 6 speed is by far the most fun I've had driving compared to the whole lot p-cars. And it isn't that Stuttgart makes stinkers, either.

Ditto...as have I and both are makers are fantastic, with both doing it their own way. But, my F cars are by far, most often, the most fun in any number of ways...

Congrat on a great color combo.

Just last night mi wife's friend make the comment that I bought mi car for attention. And how wrong she was. I HATE the attention !

but I love the sound, lines and the rich history of the brand. Being the epitome of sports cars, its a dream come true .

I bought the car bc it makes me happy. It is what I wanted. I do not welcome attention nor discourage it. A lot of my friends don't even know I have one.

I to am concerned about the attention of a 430 so I have been considering a 575 instead. This will be my 1st Ferrari. Does anyone have any thoughts on the attention factor between the two as well as the "every day" driving differences of them?

If you get a low-key colored 430, I don't think you'll have a problem. Mine is titanium, it gets looks and some cellphone photos, but it's not a major nuisance. Of course, it also depends on where you're driving it...suburbs, a big city, areas with a lot of young people, etc. In general though, the brighter colors do draw more attention.

As far as the 430 vs 575...they're two very different cars. One is a sports car, the other is a sports GT. Both are plenty fast for road use. Both are also "every day" usable, however, servicing the 575 will likely be more expensive...every 15K miles the 575 requires an expensive major (belt) service. Many would call the 430 the more exciting car, and it probably is, but the front engine 575 is probably a better general-use car...i.e., easier to get into/out of, see out of, more cargo room, etc. Yet, if you want an F1 transmission, the 430's system is likely noticeably quicker and smoother.

I will assume you are an engineer and technically know what makes Ferrari an "engineering marvel" that surpasses all other cars. However to me I think most people buy a Ferrari in the beginning to know what all the fuss is about, to feel what the driving experience is, to have the attention that comes with a super sports car, to have all the girls following you around(some of us :)). At least that's how I was when I got one. After some time driving it though, I believe the attention you get tends to become a nuisance where once it was welcomed with open arms. This is where the driving experience you get with these cars becomes what the car is truly about and you start to look for back roads where no one will spot you.

Personally I enjoy both worlds, I will take the gf to clubs where everyone can see us come out of the F-car, but I also enjoy hitting up the back roads for some spirited driving on the weekends.

I buy Apple products because it's superior not for the coolness factor. LOL guess we all have our own opinion but some people can't handle the truth so resort to personal attack. LOL
