    Hi!

I'm just wondering...what is the difference between nero and nero daytona? Which one is the more classical Ferrari black? Which one suits the California better? Those of you who chose black - for which one did you go?

And about the interior color - I'm pondering about cuoio and cioccolato. What do you think is nicer with a black exterior?

    Thanks for helping me decide!

    Nero Daytona is metallic black.
    Nero is non-metallic.
Non-metallic black is more delicate, but it looks even more stunning (for my tastes) when clean.

To be honest black cars are too much of a pain to keep clean and I would therefore avoid black in general as they're just not worth it for me (just a personal consideration).

I think cuoio would provide a more pleasing contrast with black than cioccolato as it's a little lighter (but still a very rich color).

These are all very personal and subjective considerations. I think you're the only that can find what's right for you.

I remember that you were asking questions about the 599 not long ago. Have you decided to get a California in the end?

go for cuoio for a better contrast!
i think, that any metallic black is easier to live with than plain black - and it looks better in the sun!

Nero Daytona/Cioccolato would look amazing, in my opinion.

Nero daytona. Metallic is a must. I'd go for chicolato, looks more special.

Its a GREAT combo BUT you have to accept the car will look driven bec it shows. Also...the dark beige shows scuff marks etc. I have a great leather cleaner and use that to wipe down the inside once a week to keep it looking good. I would also reccomend black carpets/bottom and a black dash. Its great but it def takes work. Good luck!

    Cuoio wears very well.
After 30K+ miles it still looks like new.

    Thanks for all your input!

It's really tough to decide! I'm switching back and forth between pictures all the time!

I'm aware of cuoio providing a richer contrast, but cioccolato looks so beautiful as well!

I know that nero isn't metallic, but rosso corsa and rosso scuderia are neither and they look wonderful. So nero seems like a fuller color while nero daytona is more "shiny"?

Carlo, I'm moving to the US next year and I'm still in the process of deciding - but since the new 599 will be presented next year it will most likely be the California for now - but since you told me that the 599 is a perfect DD the successor will most likely not be that much different - so it might be worth switching as soon as it comes out.

    Thanks again!

I recently bought a cali with nero exterior and cuoio interior.

I have to admit that the non-metallic color is really delicate and requires a lot of attention if you want to keep it clean.

However if maintained well, its a real beauty especially in the sun.
the cuoio interior matches perfectly with the nero in terms of contrast etc.
I strongly would recommend that you also take the black carpets, since it
doesn't matter when you enter the car, you always take dirt with you, and the
somewhat low entry point makes de carpet look used...with black you can disguise it a bit.
I took the cuoio dashboard with the black steering wheel since you gonna use the weel alot :)

And off course, always take the daytona seats, no matter on which color you decide.
    IMO its a Ferarri-musthave:)

See the attachment of my car below.

oh my.....as a Pozzi fan on 430's, that is very dangerous to know about.....

also...first cali was Nero/Nero. Yes, very hard to keep looking perfect, but when it is.....
Have seen Nero Daytona. Actually had a Maser QP with it. Look awesome on the QP and stuck me less well on the Cali.

Finally, i'm a big fan of black dash. I've had a couple cars with light colors on dash and hated it. You typically get a lot of 'mirroring' in the windshield which is distracting for me.
