Well, it's the night before I go & put a deposit on my very first Ferrari (F355 Spider, all being well at the inspection) & I have to admit that I'm as nervous as hell!
Don't get me wrong I'm very excited but I'm also nervous.

Now I've owned lots & lots of various sports & prestige cars but I've never had this feeling of being nervous!
I don't know if it's because I've never owned a car quite as much as this one's costing me or if it's the fact that I've had loads of people trying to put me off buying one - I just cant work out what it is!

Did any of you have this sort of feeling before buying your first F car?

    Hi
I bought a 512TR one momth ago - this buing was as a impul buying, and when I came home with car I was "scared" - I took me one month to "believe" what I have bought, every day I must go inte the garage to see the car "knibe" myself in my arm (is thiscar realy yours).
Today I am so happy for the TR- so DO IT if the car is a good car and the price is OK
PS: I also have a Dino -byt the TR is SO MUCH BIGGER, and in the beginning it scared med - BUT I AM SO HAPPY for the TR NOW

I was exactly the same mate, but the feeling of owning a Ferrari for the first time is incredible. Dont let people put you off with horror stories. Things WILL break on your 355, they do, but trust me that the feelgood factor of the car will melt any painful bills away like paracetamol on a headache :D

They say you never forget your first true love...its true...I wish I still had my 355 Berlinetta...... :(

as long as the inspection checks, just enjoy the car ... cost will likely be £1.50 a mile so make sure you buy well :)

I agree with all the comments, when i bought mine 4 years ago, i had a 400 mile drive to pick it up, by the time I got to Bolton, i was visably shaking!

When I walked round the corner and saw it parked in this guy's drive I nearly passed out!

I still walk into my garage and just look at it, funnily enough the ford focus doesnt make me feel the same way.

Loads of people tried to put me off buying it too, comments about, reliability, cost, rust, Fiats, electrics etc... my dad said I would kill myself, and that graveyards were full of stupid young men who bought ferraris and couldnt handle them.. I guess he didnt know how rare these f cars are :D

Buy it and love every single minute of it, I did and years on I still do!!

I've been thinking about "upgrading" to a 355 and, of course have read a lot of posts on FerrariChat about the potential major problems - valve guides and exhaust manifolds. My impression is that these things seem to be more a concern/issue for our friends in the US than for UK owners. Is that a wrong impression? If not, why should these things be less of a worry here?

I know a fair few 355 owners and to my re-collection I cant remember any of them having these problems, or if they did it didnt cost an arm and a leg, coz cant remember anyone bleating about cost :D
