I'm driving in the Ferrari and pull up to a light. The guy in the car next to me leans out his window and asks, 'My buddy and I were talking and we were wondering, is your car made in Italy or Spain?' I told him 'Italy' but I'm thinking, what car is made in Spain? I could not think of one. Is there one?

I was going to say I thought the Laraki Fulgura was Spanish-designed and made in Morocco, but looking at their website it appears to be a Moroccan operation. http://www.laraki-automobiles.com/fr/galerie.htm

Maybe with the names of the recent Lamborghinis being of Spanish fighting bull origin, they were confused and thought that Lambo was Spanish.

While the Hispano-Suiza was technically French, the financial backing and some of the production were squarely in Spain. Just to make things confusing, the head of H-S was Marc Birkigt, who was Swiss.

SEAT (Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo (Spanish Corporation of Tourism Cars)) is the best known Spanish company, but Pegaso is the most interesting -- making some fast (yet brittle) GTs, including the first legitimate 150mph production car.

He might have been having a disagreement with his friend as to where Ferrari was located. Did you think of that? Poss. his friend thought Ferrari was in Spain?
