...it may be time to move on to something different in the Ferrari world.

As some of you guys may know, I've had my 348 for seven and a half years, and it has been everything I'd hoped it would be. Fun, reliable, fast enough for me, communicative, challenging...all the good stuff. Ingenere, the previous owner, did a great job maintaining the car and I've had nothing but scheduled and predictable maintenance items pop up along the way.

Alas, I may be succumbing to the siren song of a big, V12 GT F-car. 575M to be precise. I'm still young, and I want to experience all of the wonderful, gorgeous Ferraris that have piqued my interest since I was a kid while I can.

I suppose I'm posting this for two reasons, one - feel free to tell me I'm crazy, and two - I'd prefer for the car to go to someone here who maybe knows it, will appreciate what it is, and will give me first right of refusal :) I don't need or necessarily want to sell it (except for space concerns), and I'm not interested in dealing with the general public.

Anyway...I'm open to advice and opinions. 348s are great cars that deserve so much more praise than they receive - though that seems to be changing more and more among people who are in the know. I always thought the 348 may be a true unsung gem, and this car proved the idea true many times over. I won't begin to claim a 575 is a "better" car, but it is different in so many ways and really isn't even comparable.

    So...flame away :)

Big V12 is all good. None of your reasons are wrong.

You’ll miss the 348 though—try to keep both is my advice.

Nope - Eastern Virginia, USA or about as far away from Australia as you can get and still be in the US :) I can say, though - mine is one to have, no doubt!

Ha! I hear ya :) Im still on the fence about selling my 993 as that may be a keeper, but I'm seriously out of room. Between my wife and I, there are seven cars (not all very cool)! Chasing inspections and tires and oil changes and on and on and on is starting to get a little old. I know, I'm a poor excuse for a car guy, ha!

When I first got mine, 9 years ago, I said I would never sell it. Only once or twice I had thoughts, not very serious ones, of selling.

Then, when I went or a ride, I was quickly reminded why I initially said I would never sell it...and have never again even considered selling.

    Never say never, but....

I have that, with 6. between getting things together for my 348 service, and trying to finish the interior of the GTX, and keeping everything else clean and tidy...some days it's a bit weighty. I'm a DIYer on everything (I enjoy it this way). house, cars, etc.

You will miss rowing the gears. Try a 550 or 360 manual trans model instead.

So, quick update. I'm having the 575 PPI-ed on the 2nd, but I'm no longer so sure I'll sell the 348. It's a pretty special car, and part of me knows I'll regret selling it. I mean, there's nothing wrong with it, I love the car, and it's the 348 to have, IMO. So...I'll likely still be a loyal 348-er, albeit one with a 575 provided I don't chicken out and/or come to my senses!

Eagerly awaiting your update- PPI and first days with the 575. Yes, there's the bulk but the 12 upfront surely more than makes up. May follow you here with prices looking attractive for now at least. Also considering Mercedes SLS AMG ( yikes! But a big MB fan for classic varieties).

As an owner of a 355 and a 550...I vote you keep both. They're uniquely different driving experiences and compliment each other well.
