I've got the 575GTC, the 333SP and the 599... the Enzo is a terrible casting IMO, and I don't have the California because I don't collect Maseratis.
Just bought this from the Bay - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260568239094&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT I don't have that many Matchbox Ferraris, so I thought I would start to find some. I can't believe what they want for the Basic Matchbox Ferraris.
I just look at the Enzo (I have it in Rossa, Nero and Blue) and then at the MC12 they did and wonder why the MC12 looks so good, low to the ground with excellent detail, but the Enzo looks like Maisto piece with vague details and a 4X4 ride height. The FXX has the same issues, but not as bad. The FXX nose and tail are excellent, but the sides are terrible. Just my twin Lincolns.
FOUND IT! Finally got that Matchbox Exige in Pearl White! Also grabbed the 430 Challenge in yellow and the Speed Machines XJ220. The C6R Corvette is a Jada piece, which impressed the heck out of me. For once a Big Time Muscle series car has excellent proportions, very nice detail and perfect paint. Why can't they make their Corvette ZR1 this good? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Did you find that Matchbox white Exige by itself or with a box of 10 I think? Because I'm looking for the same one in singles I have no luck at all.
It was in the 10 pack. Got a blue Audi R8, a dark red Jag E-Type, '68 Cougar, '57 Chevy and Ford Shelby Cobra Concept in the 10 pack too.
Just got me one of these for $40,along with a 512M,914,ZR1,and LP560-4 http://www.legacydiecast.com/product_images/hwelt-l2984.jpg
From the auction text: Doesn't Mattel own the rights, so Matchbox could just as easily make another Ferrari as Hot Wheels?
I'm looking for a Phil's Garage 288 GTO, can't seem to find it around here. (Target, Walmart, TRU, Mattel Toy Store) I've tried Ebay but keep getting outbid & shipping fees are just too high. If anyone wants to trade let me know.
Yes Mattel does own Matchbox, but they haven't made any Ferrari Matchbox cars for the last 3 or 4 years. I don't get it. Same with me. I've been watching them on eBay, but I don't think I want to pay 15-20 bucks (shipping included) for this car. Then the signed ones are going for a much higher price, when Lee's toy review only say they are worth a dollar more that the unsigned. If I find 1 at the store, I'll definately buy it. I will be going to a car show swap meet this Saturday, If I find any at a reasonable price I will get it there.
I've been looking for the 288 for about 2 months and ran across 1 this past weekend at a Target. It's the only one I have seen. Seems like a lot of Targets are starting to get some of the newer Garage series cars.
With my luck I'll buy one off Fleabay then a flood of them will start showing up on store shelves, the fun of buying them is the hunt.
But they did do a Matchbox 360 spider awhile back that they never did as a Hot Wheels casting. It's a bit ugly proportion wise, but I had to add it to my collection. It came in yellow or silver; I got both. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I found the 1:43 Enzo last night at TRU, too. I now have all 6 of them they recently released. I also picked up all 4 Pullbax and a 1966 black Johnny Lightning '66 Charger.
No they have a 1/43 Enzo in display case. They had them about 2002-2003 as well. Nice. Found a Phil's garage 288 at Target, a 51 LeSabre showcar x2, and an Ectomobile today. White Pixar Quattroporte to go with green one, and another version of Lightning McQueen. Up to about 34 different ones not counting the lenticular eye cars.
I stashed some extras of the 1/43 Enzo back in the day... got red, black and blue, if anyone needs/wants one...
Nope, I'm not sure what the line is called. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh cool!! I hit up Toys R Us today, picked up a Speed Machines 575GTC, I believe prices went up I also picked up two Ferrari 5 packs, the one with the 156, F50, Testarossa, Enzo & 348. I thought these used to be $5 a pack, but now it's $7.99, plus it was in the 'Ferrari' section. Oh yeah, I got a freakin' door ding in the parking lot, I guess I deserve it after parking in the first spot, I usually park further, but it was an empty lot, someone just had to park next to me, oh well, it's not a Ferrari, but I still hate dings
