The Veyron, the Reventon, and the Murcielago are all terrible. The rear wheels don't fill the wheel wells on any of them and they look like they're on spacesaver spares. The casting of the Veyron isn't worthy of being called a Maisto, let alone a Hot Wheels and the Reventon looks like a bad NSX kitcar...
I saw the yellow Speed Machines Saleen and two of the gold Deloreans and a maroon CTS-V, but didn't get any of them. I'm not interested anymore, only when I FIND stuff it gets exciting, doesn't mean I don't look.
Agree with the Murcielago part. I don't own a Hot Wheels Reventon yet, so I can't say anything for now. And on the other hand, the NSX ain't too great either, though I don't even know why I have 3 of them. Speaking of the CTS-V, something about it doesn't look right. I think the proportions are a bit exaggerated or something. But Hot Wheels has gotten some cars right, such as the Gallardo LP560-4 and the 370Z, except those taillights need to be painted.
Their recent muscle cars are very nice. I don't get why they can nail some cars and just miss the mark on others. Take the 430 Challenge for example. It is a nice model, until you put it next to the 430 Scuderia. Then it becomes apparent how stubby, tall and plump the Challenge is.
I think the MC12 HW did in '05 looks pretty decent considering it's one of the $0.99 cars and not a special production or anything. Also agree the new LP560 looks quite good compared to older standards

The 5-pack at Toys R Us has a different packaging design exclusive to TRU. That is why you are paying an extra 2 bucks. Rather stupid if you ask me. Found more stuff recently but to busy putting my old business inventory on fleabay to take pics of the new stuff I've found. Currently working on the 6 cases of 2007 stuff right now. It can be a pain in the butt, but I need to get it all out of here.
Yes, the packaging is different. I have the two Ferrari 5-packs from 2009 and the one from 2010 that are not the Toysrus version, and it's no big deal to me as I don't collect packages (or as some people may say: "I collect cars, not cardboard") Are any of you able to find the Ferrari Racer series around you? It seems only Toysrus has them, and maybe special Ferrari stores, but I'm a little hesitant because of the $4 price for each.
Lucky you, they're a dollar cheaper where you live. I'll try to save up room in my wallet for those Ferrari Racers and cut down on other diecast purchases. Unfortunately, the selection for them isn't great at TRU (usually only about 3-4 different models around here) so getting the full set will be hard, but I'll try.
I see the racers at TRU alot and have picked up a few. unfortunately most that I see on the pegs look like they were kicked around a bit before being shelved
At least the 355 and F40 are pretty nice cars! Here at my TRU, there's the 308 GTS Quattrovalvole, 288 GTO, and 333SP, all from the 2009 Ferrari Racer series.
Picked up the Mazda Furai, Citroen C4 Rally and another Ecto 1 at Fred Meyer's on my lunch break today
Lol kill me now but before I noticed that the Ecto-1 was kinda tough to find I passed up 4 at a Fred Meyer's just after they restocked
Got another Speed Machines S7. Decided I should get it after it took so long to just find the one for my set
