Looks like they added 15K of options to the 14 Cali and kept the MSRP the same. Was looking at a 12, may have to reconsider.

Totally agree. I used the same rationale and my 14 comes in Feb. The dealer actually called me to tell me that I was getting more $$ back because some more options became standard. (i.e center tunnel in leather). I went back and upgraded the rims to the 20" diamond finish. I was concerned that bigger rims were hurt performance but the 20" rims are 22 pounds lighter than the standard 19. Net net- Ferarri is trying to keep the value of the 14 because the 15 is a model year change

Makes perfect sense. Ferrari won't cut the price to save face but will sweeten the pie until the new car shows up.

What's interesting is that the F12 comes with a lot of standard equipment also that you have to pay extra for on the 458. Electric seats and mirrors, GPS, Sat radio, homelink, and cruise. On the 458, that's about 10 grand of extras.

Beginning with January 2014 production, all Californias will have the following additional standard equipment -

    Full Electric Seats
    Rear Parking Camera
    Front Parking Sensors
    Electrochromatic Mirrors + Homelink
    Cruise Control
    19" Diamond Finish Wheels

All of these add up to a savings of $15,211.

Not sure I'd want the diamond wheels but the rest is really good to have equipment.

My 2014 California will be delivered to me in the next week, so I presume that these changes will not apply?

You can presume CORRECT. You've already agreed to the price. The change is for late 2014 cars because soon the new California is going to be shown as a 2015 model.

It would apply most likely to anyone ordering today or very recently.

That would be correct...I had a new 2014 delivered yesterday and does not reflect the higher level of standard equipment...bummer, but they're still wonderful Ferraris! :)

I wasn't a big fan of the Diamond wheels, and was considering just going with some 3 piece HFE wheels, when Ferrari came out with this new 20" wheel last Spring. I think it's a great way to update the look of the California while staying stock.

No -- OEM, Ferrari offers two 19" wheels, and two 20" wheels. These are called the 20" sport forged diamond rims (not to be confused with the 20" diamond finish sport rim...). They were not cheap; I think they were as much as a $9500 option, don't recall exactly. I priced out some really nice 3 piece 20" HFE wheels, and they would have been a fair amount less but as I mentioned earlier, I really liked these wheels and thought having OEM would be nice. Also, some people I spoke with warned that the 20" wheels might be a bit harsher ride than 19" wheels with a taller tire profile, but I have found the ride to be very reasonable in "comfort mode" on the optional magneride suspension. I did also opt for the Special Handling Package -- I'd suggest both! Take a look on the Ferrari configurator, and you can seel the four wheels that Ferrari currently offers.

I also have the same 20 inch forged wheels they are also available in a dark finish which would probably look very nice. These wheels are lighter then the 20 inch diamond wheels .. I forget the weight difference but I believe it is around 25 lbs lighter .. They look real nice on my car IMHO .. I think i paid around 7500 for the wheels as an upgrade over std..THis is for a 2013 I got in april..
THe new std equipment is a great deal .. of course for the price we pay you would think most of this stuff would be standard anyway..

Come to think of it, $7500 does sound right -- the option add-ons were just a blur of 000's when I configured my 2013 last November!

That's really so very funny and sad when one stops to let it sink in! A car with a base price of, what, $260,000, doesn't include those things!

There have been a few already....but nothing close or similar to the final product.

I doubt we will see anything at all until Geneva. Ferrari has been pretty good with that lately.

No one knows or is talking about the new Cali. Speculation is running high which is probably a great marketing ploy to increase awareness and sales on the car.
