Hi, I wanted to introduce myself to everyone now that I have officially joined Ferrari chat. I’ve always been a huge car nut and Ferrari fan since I could remember and have lurked on this site for a few years. I’m only 15 and a half, just getting my learners permit but I’ve actually been driving with my dad for a few years (in parking lots and small back roads). He bought a 77 308 GTB a few months back after some convincing from me (I know it was owned by a member here he’s spoken to but I can’t find his screen name right now). The car is supercharged and carbureted. It drives great but we’re planning to do some small mods since it’s already a bit of a hot rod. So far I bought and installed the Hill Engineering slick shifter gate and some Morimoto LED lights that still look classic and factory. The factory carpets just bunch up and slide everywhere no matter the amount of Velcro so we bought some thicker Lloyds mats and we sewed on some factory looking rubber heel pads on them. We want to do the QV front and have some of the parts already and I want to put some wider wheels on it like Stratos gold coffin style wheels but haven’t convinced my dad yet. I’ve learned a lot so far and look forward to continue learning from this forum.

Welcome! I remember seeing that car on here before. Very cool machine. I have a black 77 GTB as well. There were only 26 US GTBs in black in 77 BTW That supercharger has to make things quite interesting. I have had forced induction cars before but never feeding four Webers. That can’t be the easiest thing to tune at all. Extremely cool car though and I look forward to hearing the progress and updates. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Wow- 15 and 1/2 and driving/working on a beautiful <and relatively rare> Ferrari! Kudos to you and your Dad and welcome FCHAT is a great community with an insane depth of knowledge- especially in the 308/328 space. BTW- Did I mention that car is beautiful
Its your car and you can change it anyway you like but to me, an early GTB especially in black is the smoothest, slipperyest most pure form that car ever was. I would keep it looking exactly the way it does now. If you want better lighting I fully understand. In my 328 I put in Trucklites LED headlights and on the dark unlit country roads in Texas it was a gigantic improvement.
You seem a good fit around here already, younger generation that turns wrenches is a blessing. Hope to chat w you more as you Keep on exploring that car and enjoying the fun!
