    Hello, after searching for a car for 6 months, just wanted to say hello as a new owner of an 1985 308 GTS! It arrived this Saturday in Tallahassee from Plano, TX. I lucked out an got it shipped last minute by Muscle Car, Inc./Gran Turismo Motorsports. I highly recommend if anyone needs to transport their car.

    The car is red/tan interior and seems to be fairly original, but has had the interior re-dyed. I had it inspected at Boardwalk Ferrari in Dallas, and it came back pretty solid except for some minor issues (high idle, intermittent headlights/turn signals, etc.)

    I enjoy working on cars and plan to do everything I can handle myself and have already learned that this forum has a wealth of knowledge about these cars, which has already been very helpful in my quest to learn more.

    Congrats Brett, as you know F-chat is an invaluable resource. I honestly probably could not afford Ferrari ownership without all the great help on here. Also it makes ownership a lot more fun, especially in the winter.

    Hi Brett , welcome to F-Chat. The folks here more than make up for the lack of a Haynes or Chiltons manual for your 308, so the DIY stuff is made much easier. Congratulations and enjoy.

    Thanks for the kind words! I am excited to own a Ferrari as I have owned a few Fiats in the past, so have cut my teeth somewhat on Italian cars. I received the car on a bitterly cold day for North Florida in a parking lot of a restaurant named 'Stinky's Fish Camp,' which had recently burned to the ground, kind of surreal (I couldn't make this stuff up).

    Anyway, I have already busted some knuckles mucking around engine and I am changing all of the fluids and timing belts for a start and I am looking forward to learning more about these beautiful cars! Please ignore the Bigfoot standing by the car; its the only picture taken, time to go on a diet....

    Cool, great to see that look of joy on your face. I had a stupid looking grin the entire time I drove home when I picked it up a few months ago.

    Thomas and I hung out recently and is STILL the ONLY guy I have let drive my Ferrari. He drove it even before my wife did.

    Congrats Brett......I couldn't wipe the smile off my face for a week after I got my 86 328, a few months ago.

    Try changing out all the relays. It helped settle a few electrical problems, like winking headlights fuel pump.... Have fun and drive it like you mean it :D

    Congrats Brett, I too am a new Ferrari owner. '79 Euro GTS. It had some electrical quirks when I got it. Intermittent Head, tail and side marker lights. Winking head lights. Weak fan motor. I put in one of Birdman's new fuse blocks. Took less than an hour. Everything now works as new. It was like magic. Even my 31 year old clock keeps perfect time!
