Hello all, This is a post on behalf of my uncle. My uncle loves cars as much as all of us loony's and he wouldn't tell me what he had bought to replace his weekend car; a 1956 Jag Roadster. I figured it would be a 356 Speedster or E-Type Jag as he always goes on about them but this morning he turned up at my place this morning in this: 1994 348 He got out straight away and said, "Drive us to Malibu!" Now this was just awesome, i haven't even sat in a Ferrari before let alone driven one! It is a lovely ride and the car is in great shape! Suffice to say i drove it with a lead foot and we both had a blast! A very brief review as i am headed out shortly: It sounds decent (though i told him to buy a tubi already) and it handles nicely, i love the feedback you get through the steering wheel! It's tough steering it about at slow speeds due to the lack of power steering but it feels like a real mans car. It's certainly faster than my S2K, which isn't bad for a 13 year old car. He wants to have the whole interior re-conditioned as in dyed, not new leather, does anyone know a place in Socal that can do this? Josh.
Wow. I almost bought that car! that EXACT car... it was on ebay for quite a while, your uncle paid $39,900 for it... it sold almost immediately after they dropped it to that price... they wanted $42K from me, the couple that owned it bought a new F430. Its got way above average miles on it for a '94 and yea, the interior is in terrible shape, but pretty mechanically solid.
He paid less than that. I wouldn't say terriblle shape by any means, i'm not sure if it's the same car you're thinking of as it wasn't purchased on ebay. Where was the car you were interested in located? Hey dice, Making the post for my uncle to see if he can find someone to do the interior. I'm out of town this coming wkend, but perhaps the next one? Josh.
I'm sorry to have to inform you ............ that the wheels are mounted on the wrong side. It happens all the time. Those are the right side wheels, mounted on the left side. It's not a big deal, but you might want to check and see if you have directional tread on the tires, in case your tires are mounted on the wrong wheels and the tires are rotating backwards. Congratulations on the new rig, enjoy it, be safe!
Perhaps ''terrible'' was a bad choice of words... perhaps poor condition would be better, but make no mistake, I am in NO WAY trying to downplay or otherwise insult you, your uncle, OR that car! it is what it is. I didnt buy it simply because I found a car that was closer to what I wanted, and honestly, I wanted a TS... and thats what I bought. It was near San Diego... had over 68,000 miles on it... not saying thats BAD, just above average for whats out there. I only made this claim because the pic you posted in this thread is the same as one included in the ebay auction for the car i'm speaking about. Here is the listing --> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200160250624 see for yourself.
