    Hi Marcello2,
I have a 1995 355 GTB blk/tan in the process of ppi right now, and I also live in S.F.! I'm in Noe Valley, near the Mission District. Where are you?
The car I found was at Specialty Sales in Pleasanton, CA. It looks super clean, has 25,026 on the odo., and it's priced at 70,000. I know that sounds high, did you look at this car by chance? It was bought from a Ferrari-Maserati dealership in 2004 by a private party, and is on consignment at said dealership. It's a super -clean ride, and if it gets the holy blessing from thine exalted mechanic, it's mine. Any input from you as a new buyer would be appreciated, as I am hoping to be one soon. Let's grab a beer sometime, I could use the time away from my girl! She's driving me nuts with her monthlies...hudson cuneo @415 999 7571 p.s. are you Italiano? I'm only a quarter, but it's enough to have the passion for the Horse!!!

I forgot to mention, super major mutha-funkin' mad props to a young blood
like myself (crazy coincidence, I'm also 27) for having cajones to buy a 355, and BIG congrats. If the gods are smilin', I'll have my own Blk/tan 95 355 soon, and we'll have to rip the sh*t out of Highway 1 in the near future. Enjoy this unusual SF summer weather, as I am a lifelong native, and this only comes around every 4-5 years. Roads are warm, use those tires! My Toyo RA1's on the 911 are perfectly seasoned...

    Marcello2,
If you want experience, honesty, and friendliness, check out Waterfront Automobili. They are the guys doing my ppi. The address is 1310 17th St. in SF. Cross-street is Tennessee or Minnesota or something. Sal Garcia is the owner, a sharp guy who will take the time with you because he has a deep-rooted love of Ferraris. A dealership will be used to dealing with guys who have crazy cash, and can say "I don't care, fix it." Sal will hook you up. He actually cautioned me against the car I'm looking at, which in my book says a boatload about a mechanic doing a ppi for a customer who could potentially bring a whole lot of work into that mechanics' shop. His people are very knowledgable as well. 30 year indy history in SF also says a lot. I've never actually taken a car to him, but I have experienced about 12 different shops here in town of various specialties, and sometimes you just know when you've found a good one. Hope the new whip is all that and a bag of chips, cheers!

Marcello I hope you had a PPI done( I assuming you didn't since any Ferrari place in the bay is at least 2 weeks booked) on that car, one of my associates drove that car and spoke to Brian Crall about the last service that was done on it.

The person you bought it from only had the belts done,(he spent 5K) nothing else, it still needs a 30K major. It also has the original clutch.

The car had major stress cracks along the flying buttress'es on both sides and has been involved in a accident on the front passenger side.

The dash leather isn't factory either it was replaced with a different grain than the factory leather

The front suspension wasn't repaired back to factory specs either, but it does drive straight.

You need to call Brian Crall in San ramon and get a leakdown and compression test, your car is down on power, my buddy has owned a few and commented on how he felt that car was not pulling in the upper rev range as his other 355's did.

With almost 40,000 miles on it now you should plan on spending some money on it in the near future.

I know it was cheap but you can easily dump $15-20,000 into that car quickly.

Good Luck and contact Brian Crall ASAP he is one of the best Ferrari techs in the country.

Who did the PPI? What were the Leakdown and Compression numbers?

You may want to check your receipts, when my friend checked the car out he was only shown 3 bills and none had a 30K major.

He then called Kevin and Giuseppe at FOSF and they had no records of a 30K major either.

The good thing is that at least the belts have been done, Brian Crall actually suggested to DM that he needed a major but he only did the belts.

Brian couldn't understand why he didn't perform a needed major but DM only drove the car 1000 miles since Brian had it.
