Wanted to introduce myself, I am Ron Dargenio from Yardley, Pa. Recently I became the owner of this fantastic 1995 F355 B, purchased from Matt Semon of Evolution Motorsports in Plainview, NY.

    I've been a long-time Porsche owner, over the years I've had a 1973 911E, '73 911S, '79 911SC, '88 911 Turbo, '89 944 Turbo, and a 2001 996TT.

Maybe the 355 isn't as brutally fast as the 996TT, but it has a wonderful overall balance and the look and feel of a piece of art that the Porsche did not have. I was thrilled to drive it home from Long Island and find it fast and comfortable, with great communication to the driver.

Wish it had a fatter-rimmed steering wheel, though. ;->

Thanks to all. Regarding the F1, a friend of mine generously let me drive a BMW M3 with SMG, and my thoughts were that if I were driving in daily traffic, it would be a plus. But, for a sports car, my preference is for a manual transmission.

I know some people have mentioned the potential big $$$ repairs of an out-of-warranty F1 box, but I do not know if these transmissions require more frequent repair than a normal 5 or 6-speed.

Anyway, I got used to the 355's gated shifter right away and am enjoying it.

  7. Gorgous interior looks perfect the 6-speed is the way to go in every Ferrari except the Enzo and CS which sadly dont offer a Manual transmission.

Dont hesitate to post more pictures.

    Ron,
Your car looks awesome :) I love the 355 b and IMHO the 1995 model year had the most HP of all 355!! Enjoy it ;)

Lovely car - well done :)

The steering wheel is the only thing I could describe as disappointing in the 355.

Th pre-air bag one is better looking/feeling, and the 360 is a massive improvement. I've toyed with the idea of replacing mine from time to time, but never quite get round to it.

The one saving grace of it is the big fat yellow badge in the middle. Every time I drive it I can't quite believe it's mine!

RD - I was a die hard Porsche fan for over 15 years and even went on the European delivery (the Grand Tour) to the Porsche factory three times. Then I decided that Porsches were no longer exciting enough and I switched to Ferraris - my first being a 1988 Testarossa. I have friends with 996TTs and even a GT2 who are always telling me how fast their cars are. I could care less if they got their car to accelerate to 60 in 2.8 seconds. Bottom line? They are not a Ferrari. Ferrari ownership is not about being the fastest car on the road. It is all about the mystique, the sexiness of the design, the 8500+rpm redline, the high pitched scream, the gated shifter, and simply - the prancing horse and everything it stands for. I always tell them - Porsches are great cars but they are no where near as fun to drive. Congrats on your new acquisition. I am sure you will be able to relate to what I am saying very shortly!

ah yes, back when Ferrari still made beautiful cars, this absolutely GORGEOUS machine came about. I can sense passion in this cars design, somehting hte latest Ferraris are missing. This car really looks insanely good from any angle without even trying. Its perfection. Then, when tuners used to add fatter bodywork and huge tires, it was heaven.
