Good Day! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself..... My name is Ben.... last year I purchased a 1995 Ferrari 355 spider (2.7) 6 Speed. A friend and myself flew into Arizona, purchased the car, and drove 3500km home to Toronto! Yes I know it was not the smartest decision but driving across America with my best friend, top down in my dream car was a trip of a lifetime! You can't put a price on a trip like that... or can you! Luckily we made it home.... but soon after the trouble started! I will get into details at a later time in regards to having to rebuild the ENTIRE motor! I will also definitely take the time to thank many new friends within the Ferrari community and parts suppliers..... I also have plenty of pics share! So.... It is now a year later and driving my beloved car seems more like a distant memory or a dream - until now! Once again I feel like a kid the night before Xmas as I am picking my baby up tomorrow! The garage is clean, floor has been painted, and I'm sure I will be up two hours early tomorrow! Cheers!
Thanks for the welcome.... No worries about the troubles! On the bright side I got the car cheap and it now has a completely fresh motor and Hill Engineering Clutch bearing/flange! The 2.7 is the ignition system on the 1995 355, newer models have the 5.2 ignition system. Apparently I can trouble shoot codes without computer on the 2.7 ignition. I picked the car up this afternoon Everything running great apart from a high idle. At a light it holds around 1500 for 4-5 seconds before dropping down to 1000rpm. Not sure if the motor is just breaking itself in or if there is an issue. Any threads here typically point towards oxygen sensors! I'll see if I can check the codes from ECU Hmmmm...... I think I will take the advice of many and change the oxygen sensors and install the gold connector kit before doing anything!
