Thanks Andrew, The mats in my car are lloyds and do have the grommet to keep the mats in place. I think you hit it. The car sat quite a bit before we got it. Now I can finish detailing it and learn more about the 355.
Gene, As you are finding out, there are a number of 'gotchas' on these cars. Many, but not all are in the owner's manual, but it ain't an easy read. DO NOT TRUST THE PARKING BRAKE. My car rolls at anything over a degree or two. I've been told, "They're all that way", and that they are fine. Be careful. And enjoy.
I too have been an admirer for several years, and may be close to jumping. Gene, did you drive/inspect the 355 before? or did you purchase sight unseen? These cars are 20+ years old and just like us are getting tired. Congrats on the new ride, hopefully I will be close behind.
I bought sight unseen. Was a smooth transaction from a guy that races Porsches and is well known by P. C. A. members. Car came just as described and at a great price.
Ahh, blue like God & Pininfarina intended. Although it is a bit darker than the perfect Hyperion Blue.
My hand brake never works lol. I don't know anybody that has one that does. 355 floor mats are known to mess with accelerator pedal check that. It did it to me once also
