I recently became a new 360F1 owner and have some questions on driving styles. My car is stored and will have to wait until April to check out it's driving characteristics.

    1. From a stand-stile what is the quickest way to launch the vehicle (with minimal clutch ware if possible)

    2. Since the engine revs up to 8,500rpm what is the best cruising rpm and at which point does the Tubi sound the best?

    3. Sport button or no sport button when should it be used?

    Thanks

    You need good tires.

In my personal experience, the 1st gear gets no traction. I managed to squeezed out 4.3sec (timed using dynolicious and not on public road), managing wheel spin was the hard part. The 1st gear is almost useless with oem tires. I think I could squeeze out 4sec flat or sub 4s with near extreme performance summer tires. New tires will be installed tomorrow, i can't wait.

My 360's Tubi sounds best when cruising @ 2,500rpm & also @ wide open throttle above ~4K rpm.

My Ferrari friends advise "Sport Mode" all the time.

My Lambo reverts back to "Normal" all the time after power is turned off so I have to remember to turn it back on, not so in your 360.

I believe the best times for a stock 360 that were repeatable enough to be considered printable is something like 4.2 0-60 and 12.4 QM? it may be 12.2 QM but one of the two.. definitely 4.2 0-60.. if you can get 4 flat that would be impressive..

    sure...

    - Everyone should try a full-throttle start, once or twice... just so you know what your car is capable of. Switch traction control off, find a safe place where there are NO other cars or things to bump into. Put the car in gear and mash the accelerator. What will happen... you'll leave a bunch of your new tires on the ground. Cool? Sure, once.

Then switch traction control back on and leave it on... believe me, it's there for your protection.

    - Red-line shifting: Lots of fun. Put the car in sport mode and try it. You'll be surprised how fast your car will shift when you're above 7500 RPM. It's totally different than at lower RPMs and shows the "other" side of your car... the one that comes out when you're on the track.

    - Tubi... depends on which one you have. The Stage II I had on my 360 had an amazing resonance at 2500RPM. If I was driving in a downtown with buildings on either side, the echo was epic. Again, full-throttle will make the Tubi sing a beautiful song.

    Have fun.

When I do a quick start (sport mode engaged, ASR engaged), I notice some kind of odor. I kind of has that brake smell. I wonder if it is the clutch getting burned up. It is not with repeated starts. Needless to say, I don't do it much (only a couple of times). The wheels don't seem to spin with a quick launch. Perhaps I am holding back out of fear of breaking something of frying the clutch.

It will be interesting to see what the really mechanically inclined on the forum say, but with my rudimentary knowledge of how things work... I'd say you're burning up your clutch.

Watch this... you don't want this to be you:
