After lurking here for many years I have purchased a 2007 430 Spider.
    I have 2 questions……

    1) I have read many threads on disconnecting or installing a bypass switch for the exhaust valves. I would like to first hear the exhaust before I do either. Some reference disconnecting a electrical plug to a relay that will permanently open the exhaust valves. Would someone explain were that is or post a picture.

    2) I have been working on removing the sticky goo off the switches and read many posts on what to use and how to go about it. I would like to remove the carbon fiber trim around the radio so I can get the window switches and the AC Knobs. Would anyone know how to remove that piece of trim?

Thank you in advance for your help, and great forum, I spent hours here before taking the plunge!!

I can help you on question 1. You can disconnect the vacuum hoses on the valves and plug the ends. This will keep the valves in the open position. If you don't like it, just plug the vacuum lines back into the valves. Make sure the lines are plugged to prevent loss of vacuum. I have mine set up this way for now until my new exhaust system arrives.

If it's like the racing exhaust on the 360 simply pull the vac hose off (yellow arrow) and use a zip tie to hold it away from the muffler (red arrow) I also put a small screw in the end of the hose so it doesn't suck up any crud. Mine are open all the time, no need for a radio, just great Ferrari sound :)

    Hope this helps

Instead of using screw, I would suggest using a golf tee. Also plug the end of the vacuum valve to prevent grime from entering. End caps for wire shelving works great. Just search this forum "F430 exhaust controller" and you'll find two remote systems available, Forza Compenenti and Capristo Remote Controller. Good luck.
