I'd like you guys to congratulate my dad on getting a 550 Maranello! We just got back from the dealer (Autosport USA, Pompano Beach Fla). My dad was looking at 575M's for the last few months but ultimately decided that a classic Ferrari gate was more satisfying-- especially on a road car. The car is truly a superlative as far as 550's go. Here are the details. 2001, 4k miles, Rossa Corsa, Tan Daytona seats w/ red stitching and piping, Shields, red calipers, modular wheels. Cosmetically and mechanically the car absolute perfection. I'd also highly recommend Dave and Naldo at Autosport USA in Pompano Beach Florida. They were extremely professional and accomodating. Now the big question-- do we leave it here in Florida for Cavallino than send it up to Philadelphia, or send it up next week?! I think the former . Thanks guys! You are a great community and I'm looking forward becoming a real Tifosi! -Joe
Very big congrats. I think he made the right choice. There is just something "right" about having a gate shift in a Ferrari. So what was the final deal? Ususally I'd think it kinda rude to ask how much you paid but since this was kinda a group effort I guess it is ok to ask. Again, congrats.
Congrats on selecting a great color combination. Isn't that price at about half of the original MSRP?
Thanks guys! We are both waiting very impatiently... Mark, I think I have a scheduling conflict with my internship and Cavallino... so we might just have to go next year. I'd rather not jeopordize my career, I need to be ready to get my Stradale soon (hehe)... -Joe
Congrats to your dad on buying the F550. Wednesday or Thursday is a very long wait if you're not patient. Don't forget to post pictures when it gets delivered.
The car sounds excellent. I have one just like it and it is fantastic. Can you share with us what you had to pay to get this jewel? Thanks
Car looks amazing, drives better than it looks, but has a few problems... - Both inside door handles are malfunctioning-- the passenger side will not even open the door. - The emergency brake will not disengage without multiple attempts (seems to be hit-or-miss). - After driving the car down the driveway, a prompt appeared in the instrument panel regarding a system fault in the suspension. - Received one key with black fob only-- there should be three, with a red master being the most important. - Radio shows "wait" without functioning. I'll post pictures later.
Sounds like a car that hasn't been driven enuf. Take it out for an Eye-talian tune up. If this doesn't work, just put black masking tape over the idiot lights. Dale
