I haven't been this excited about a new Ferrari since the 288GTO (except the Enzo of course) and I also emailed BBR asking them to realize the 575 Zagato and was very disapointed to not get a reply; I am pretty sure that they know this car very very well. I suspect either one of two things with BBR: 1) Since the prototype has basically been commissioned by a Japanese businessman, a japanese model company probably has the rights. YOW Models has already announced a 1/43 version. 2) BBR is keeping tight-lipped with this beauty and will surprise everyone (which I hope is the case).

It is truely amazing how many special ("one off") Ferraris were built this year. The latest Autoweek has a small photo of a rebodied Enzo called a P4/5 (they claim it cost a total of $4 millions). The Latest Cavallino (number 154) has nice photos of the Yashiyuki Hayashi Zagato 575-Z and the 612 Scaglietti rebodied by Pininfarina as the 612 Kappa (thanks to Peter Kalikos's megabucks).

If any of these make it to 1:18 scale (preferably HW Elite) they will sell a zillion of them.

Have any of the Sultan of Bruni special Ferraris made it to 1:18?

MR Looksmart has just released one in 1/43 scale. From what I read they have exclusive rights but they may be just for the build-ups. I still have a backorder with GPM for the Yow kit.

Miniwerks.com had both versions untill a few days. They sold out pretty quick. Luckily I had the dark grey one on pre-order.

I used to collect BBR, but last year I 'turned to Looksmart for the current ferraris.
Price is 40% less and quality is equal and sometimes better.
The only downside is the fact that a few releases of Looksmart are in fact old MR cars that cost the same as BBR. Looksmart is made by MR.
The dr. wax, the 250swb speziale, and the dino are in that category.

I would not be happy if I had bought the MR versions a few years back.

Today I picked up my grey, silver 575 zagato, it's superb

Looksmarts are actually MR models. quality is equal to BBR.
BBR did the same with the gasoline brand. They also offer their models in a cheap range like MR. BBR does mostly recent raceversions of the 360 and 550.
Looksmart brings more interesting models for me.
On www.gasolinemodels.com you can find a webshop from BBR (the same adress as the factory). I prefer Ebay, prices are a lot better if you deal with reliable sellers (recognizable by the feedback).

I still like BBR, but certain models are not made by them. Put both products next to another, and litle difference is noted. Before I buy a new modell ferrari, I simply wait for both the BBR and the Looksmart, and pick the best.

IMO, MRs models are, for the most part, as good as BBR. I do think the MR/Bosica models are better than BBR. I am waiting for more than a year for the MR/Bosica Alfa 1750 to actually be released! I would put both Look Smart's and Gasoline's models down a notch from both MR and BBR

BBR has a fantastic range in vintage Ferrari's, but on contemporary models, both Looksmart and Make Up present a better deal. Both in terms of quality and price. I mean, just compare the MakeUp F40 and 288 GTO the the ones BBR did.
