    I'VE BEEN AT MARANELLO LAST WEEK ,AND BESIDES THE HEAVY 430 SCUDERIA STREET TESTING ,I'VE NOTICED ALOT OF 612 PROTYPES FOR SOME OTHER NEW FERRARI BEING DRIVEN ON ROADS,OR DRIVING ON THE SMALL SPEED HUMP CIRCUIT AT THE BACK OF THE FACTORY.THE 612 HAD A VERY STRANGE EXHAUST SYSTEM SURROUND VERY LONG VERY RECTANGULAR AND FLAT.

    when i posted the "revised 612" thread, this is the same place i saw them. did the version you saw have some type of upward air intake on the hood?

    I doubt it is full replacment, but rather a Modificato(sp?) version of the 612, as the 612 has only been out for a few years.

    I CAN'T REMEMBER BUT IT WAS A 612 BODIED RESTYLED CAR.THEY WERE ALSO TESTING A VERY LOUD 550 MARANELLO WHICH WAS MODIFIED EXTERNALY.

    They are taking orders for 612s for next year, so I doubt a 612M will be introduced any time soon.

    I don't think you can tell that much by what you see driving around Maranello, at least not until they are almost done. They may be testing any number of individual parts in various prototype cars they have lying around.

    612 HGTC is such a fun car. Exhaust sound is even better than a 599
